Hi guys
I'm intrigued about this.
It seems you can't edit out the adverts and stuff using this bit of a kit automatically which is a shame.
My question is could you hook up an old VCR and transfer video's to dvd's using this machine as well? - either by vhs to hdd or vhs to dvd?

Try a DVD HDD combination with the Guide Plus system. My Pioneer 530H can be set to record the same programme every week indefinately - as long as the programme time remains the same."...IT'S FRUITY!"0 -

I use a similar model to record from sky. I use the autoview series link, and then set the timer on the PVR. As long as the starting time doesnt change then Sky will always turn to that channel and the PVR will always record. I've even got the PVR on a UPS so that any power cuts will not cause a problem!
And sky+ is not without problems. Many programs do not have the series link and again, any late timetable changes will also skupper you!0 -
From the same source, would this at £149.99, be a far better all round buy ?0

can't see this anywhere for £149.99?
It seems it does play DIVX discs which is what the original poster requested.0 -
The catch with the Mustek is it has an analogue tuner and no freeview tuner. This is probably a clear-out ot make way for a similarly specced device - with that highly atttractive feature of having both hard drive and the DVD disk capability - but with the Freeview tuner (maybe more than one) and programme guide built in. Expect these to be £150 next year.
Good VCRs have been priced at around £100 for some years now, but these new digital devices have 1/10th of the moving parts and can use some cheap computer components so SHOULD be getting much cheaper..0 -
Yet another reasonably specified machine with no USB or network connections! If you want to play downloaded content then you're stuck with burning a DVD+RW every time. Just a couple of more quid spent on components and I'd have bought this. Oh well, that's £100 saved I suppose.Reading this signature is a waste of time0
