iphone 4 air bubble problem?

Hey all,

I recently bought (25/02/11) an iphone 4 from Tesco (in store) and today an air bubble has appeared in the middle on the screen. NOT NICE.

I fitted a screen protector earlier today but removed it a couple of hours after i noticed the bubble.

Any ideas if tesco will exchange it? or do i go to an apple store? I haven't got round to getting insurance for the phone yet so that's no good.

cheers for the help...

Was the screen protector put on correctly?
There should not be a bubble present if the film has been removed.

Was there a protective cover on there that you were supposed to remove?

Apple probably will, they exchanged my iPad for free when it had a dead pixel, they are normally good with these things. I'd try an Apple shop rather than Tescos, unless you don't have one nearby.

There is an Apple store not to far from here. I'll have to pay them a visit at the weekend. Do you reckon it's worth calling to see if they will first? Do I mention I had a screen protector on? surely it should do the bubble thing regardless?

I wouldn't mention the screen protector, unless they ask, I can't see how it could possibly cause an air bubble under the glass.
Yes call first, and book a genius bar appointment.

Don't get the phone wet btw, they will check for water damage, even if water can't cause the problem - they checked for water damage with my iPad.

Go online and book a genius bar appointment. That way they have the hardware for a potential swap there and then.

    Nice one. Cheers everyone.

    Booked an appointment for Saturday.

Should I back everything up? Or would they be able to do that there too?
