Anyone know if virgin have plans to do-up the cabins on this route or have done so in the last year?
Cheers

No, the old bone shakers are still operating the route. The new 330's are due to arrive next year and may well operate the route but with demand being so high, I suspect the old 747's will keep going a few years more. Most people have discovered that BA from Heathrow is now a much better option.

That's what I thought - what are the PE areas like on this route btw?

I wasn't impressed with VS Premium Economy, no dedicated crew, no newspapers, and when the seat in front was reclined there was no more room than in an economy seat, although probably more legroom than in a VS economy seat, they pack them in. My view is VS is all about the hype, the reality is in my view, pretty grim

I remember reading that this flight was voted the most chaviest and that the staff that crew it are all on it as punishment for cocking up elsewhere within Virgin. I told this to a colleague at work who was going and when she got back she was in hysterics telling me about all the things that had happened on the flight.

I would have to disagree to say thay the premium economy is a grim experience

I fly premium economy and its very good

I dont get what it is about the VA vegas flights your are going to get a different type of client on these flights you will get stags and hen on the flights and people being merry having a few drinks

Virgin is a good airline even though I am going to say that for obvious reasons, the staff dont get put on a Vegas flight because of cocking up thats just nonsense

    It's a good story though!

It's like EVA Air's flight to Bangkok. The 'clientele' on board are amongst the most 'challenging' of all the routes, but boy, do the staff like the rotation as they love the stopover.

    True story.

We've flown virgin in economy and were quite happy but flying back in economy that vegas flight is very cramped - we didn't seem to have the stag dos etc as it was the first flight back after the first volcano so everyone was just happy to be going back :) What I'd really like to know is is there a difference between the PE on the planes out of Heathrow and that Gatwick - Vegas route. Do they have they "new" style seating etc in PE on those planes?
