As an aside, I was being served by my friendly Post Office lady this morning when her phone rang. It was someone enquiring about the cost to send a 160kg parcel. She nearly fell over laughing as she put the phone down.

Don't know what it was, but they'd be hard pushed to get it in this tiny village PO which is shoved in the corner of the local Spar.

160 kilos....... I cant even imagine that! Where did they weigh it ? On a weigh bridge? Used to dealing with 20 kilo and that is pretty heavy!
  • itsnotfair and f1charlie, I have sent you details via pm

  • You've got it Jake, they have provided me with an excellent service at an unbeatable price.
  • well, I might try the one above next time - very let down by the one I have used via ebay, emailed the delivery detls etc. to her so she could arrange collection, she asked for special times etc., advised her if collection was arranged for Weds, I was only here until 11.30am - first parcel was collected Tuesday morning, fine, i was here, but had rec'd no notification, 2nd parcel is still sat waiting in my hallway as she booked it for -yes weds and they arrived after 11.30, her communication is very poor and i have now had to send a very apologetic email to my bidder - the poor chap paid on Monday night, thought I was doing the right thing by sending it by courier. Will try above one out though failing that I'm going back to doing my own bookings.

ETA - Parcelforce have just arrived to collect it - still doesn't alter my views on seller concerned though.
  • There's no doubt that having to be around for collection is a pain. When I used parcleforce, direct, collection didn't take place until near on 1700 hrs. On the ocassions I have used this ebay service, collection by dhl, it has been early afternoon. It's all to do with how busy the courier is on the day.
