Ive been in contact with Ribby Hall, they emailed me thier prices through, im hoping for 70 for the wedding breakfast and 150 for the buffet at night and if i have done my sums correctly i am looking at around £4000. Does anyone know if you have to have a drinks package or is there a cheaper way round this maybe just having a bottle of plonk on each table? Also does anyone know the costs of churches? We have seen a lovely church on the way to OH's parents called St Nicholas in Wrea Green which looks lovely.

yes i looked there too its ridiculous prices but i loved the area- but then I had to hink the cost for others getting up there and home.
You can ask about corkage (where you buy your own alchohol and may a fee kind of thing to the hotel usuallty about £5-8 per bottle (then obv what it costs you to buy) but not all places allow this)
the church thing also differs some places just ask for donations some charge basic rate then add on for extras- my local one which i really wanted is £600 basic.
Note though you have to live in the parish? area of the church.

Thankyou to poster about tram :) it wil be the new trams next year may just leave it lol xx

Thanks for that, i didnt realise you had to live in the parish of the church to be married there, wat actually classes as the parish may i ask - sorry if im being thick. Because we live in Blackpool would we not be able to get married in Wrea Green? My sister in law got married at Ribby Hall and it cost her under £3000 for everything including the ceremony. She didnt have the wedding breakfast just a buffet so i know it can be done on a budget. Ive emailed a couple of other places to send me their prices so hopefully we will decide on one but to be honest we both have our heart set on Ribby Hall. The lady is away until friday so i am hoping she'll give me a ring when she's back and we can try and find a way of cutting costs. Fingers crossed, but any advice would be appreciated on how to do this.

Don't forget that Ribby is a bit of a way from anywhere except Wrea Green....may make for expensive taxis for your evening guests.

You would need to speak to the vicar at St Nicholas's...maybe if your OH's parents live in the parish you might be allowed to marry there.

You will still be able to hire the vintage trams for private hire, it's part of the big plan for the new tram tracks - check with Blackpool Transport.

Thanks for all your hlep Floss, i really appreciate it. i think we may have to rethink our venue if we cant get the church. OH's family live mostly in Warton / Wrea Green and Freckleton which is why we thought Wrea Green but if it has to be in our parish then we have a church at the top of our street which we were originally going to use, its just back to the drawing board for the venue. I wanted somewhere with nice gardens for the pictures or near somewhere where we could have the pictures. OH wont have the Savoy (much to my annoyance) because 3 lots of our friends have had thier weddings there in the past year or so. Also the Ruskin was another option but again all his 3 sisters have had thier reception there, he's the groomzilla he he!! Does anyone know if the Imperial have grounds? i have tried to see on thier website but couldnt find anything.

Hey hun, another Blackpool bride getting married at the Savoy! What were the weddings like that you went to there? Just out of nosiness lol.
The Imperial, I'm sure it doesnt have grounds hun. I live about 5 mins away n 99% sure it just has a car park at the front and side. I have booked my photographer, make up/hair artist, DJ, decor people lol, so if need any cheap numbers let me know!! Between me n Tinkers we pretty much have this sown up lol

the weddings were lovely - especially my best friends, she had the bigger room which the decor was stunning the only thing she wasnt impressed with was the fact that there was another wedding going on and whilst we were in the bar area the other wedding party was waiting in there aswell - two brides in the same area (not my ideal situation) IYSWIM. Also there wasnt anywhere really to get her picutres done which is what i want really, she went to Stanley Park but as she is a bit shy they only had a couple done and then came back. i prefer the bigger room, i prefered the decor etc but my OH wants somewhere that hasnt been seen by all our friends and his family (his family consists of 4 brothers & 4 sisters, 5 of which have been married). Its becoming a nightmare, i have even considered hiring a marquee as we know of someone with a lot of land but that is looking at becoming more expensive than a venue when you consider the caterers coming in etc.

Ah thanks for that hun :) Ive never been to one there, well, Ive actually never been to a wedding full stop lol so am totally new to all this!! We have 2 rooms, the bigger one for the reception, and the smaller one opposite it for the ceremony, so hopefully no-one else is getting married the same day!! Will have to ask.
I know the Hilton, and also the Norbreck castle both do deals at the min, if thats any use? Also, think the Garstang golf club do? Think its called the country club actually, thinking bout it, but if you googled it you would find it am sure. Also, theres the De Vere, which I really wanted, but it was £6k odd. I think they did cheaper packages for later notice weddings, if thats any good?!!
On the pics side of things, we're hoping to get a few on the little park by the Savoy, and maybe Stanley Park,a lthough not discussed with our photographer yet. Our budget is £5.5k, and we've done really well at sticking to it, even with an expensive hair/make up artist, a photobooth, 75 day guests and 150 evening guests, 7 bridesmaids and a page boy lol. It can be done, am sure me n Tinkers will give you tips if you need any, just shout hun! Think we've both been planning at least a year now lol.
500 days to go til my wedding!!!

Imperial don't have grounds, but we had fantastic weather & had photos taken on the Prom opposite when we got off our tram, also just outside on their terrace. It was the days the Lights were switched on last year, and our band played outside on the terrace until about 9pm as all our guests were outside :) We had the Louis suite, with a private bar, facing the seafront, and it was gorgeous with the candelabra on the tables.

How about Gynn Gardens for your photos? Otherwise, the North Euston in Fleetwood are doing a deal I think, and there is a lovely park just across the road from there.

I've got the name & number of a fab make-up girl if anyone needs one, she will do a trial & the whole bridal party if you want. Also remembered the name of my tiara place, DreamCatcher on Church Street, who made mine & my BM's tiaras for me with earrings to match.

Don't forget to go to the wedding fairs in Blackpool over the next couple of weeks, they are advertised in the Gazette.
