This is easy!! Just keep it. The amount of times I've been done over by RM is unbelievable.
The last one goes like this:
My friend posted my lens cap to me from Scotland to Devon. Received a card from RM saying
postage from him was 0.08 pence short, so I would need to pay £1.08 to get it back. So knowing
how bad a service they supply I used my debit/credit card so I would have evidence & paid the
£1.08 online. Anyway to cut a long story short, after me driving to 4 different sorting/ post offices
over the next year, making 26 phone calls & writing several letters, I finally gave up as they'd led me
on a wild goose chase for so long & lost my lens cap. I eventually opted & received a cheque for £1.08
13 months later (& no lens cap) & a massive waste of all my time. (I paid the money originally online
2 days after receiving the card telling me to pay for the shortage).
If RM is in trouble it's no surprise to me. If they're paying their fat cat CEO's millions a year in bonuses
like the bankers (eg. Barclays top dog recently received £6million bonus to go with his £3 million
    salary). B#s#ar#s!!!
So yes, keep the money & savour the moment!! Enjoy!!!
  • Send the cheque back. Using the reason that they would never find out is dishonest and taking advantage of the system. I am sure lots of people have submitted fraudulent claims under this system as a way of making a quick buck which might be why people have to wait ages to get a response to their genuine claims.
Who cares if RM is a large organisation? I wouldn't steal £1 from a beggar on the street and neither would I steal £1 from a millionnaire. If something isn't yours, it isn't yours.
That is my opinion of course...

  • I would probably keep it tbh because I have had parcels go missing and have never managed to get anything back for that, so sod 'em![/QUOTE - :T COMPLETELY AGREE - WISH YOU LIVED NEAR ME

i would not bother sending it back. If they had done their job properly in the first place you would not have had to contact them.

Look at it as 'compensation' :-)
    exactly - brilliant:t

Post Office aren't squeeky clean. Many people reckon they are using the bad weather over Xmas as an excuse so that they didn't have to take on all the temporary workers thay normally have during this period.
If this is the case any late deliverys have saved them hundreds of thousands of pounds. Keep it, the admin would cost more to claim it back from you.
  • Keep the money!
I had exactly the same thing happen to me and sent them the cheque back. Didn't even get the courtesy of an acknowledgement from them despite it costing me a stamp to send back!
Honesty is not always the best policy.
