Its not officers fault they get overtime.
and police deserve more bonuses that bank boss's. banks are the cause to the big drop in money these days and i feel that the police do a more demanding job than they.
most people will disagree but oh well
Most people will disagree because they can't understand a damn word what you're writing.
Are you a copper, by any chance?
If so, God forbid.0 -
This is just about Bob's UK earnings.
He will also profit significantly from Barclay's US operations.
I don't think he will be having to pop to Cash Converters just yet.0 -

no im not, i feel that the police do an excellent job, look at the ones injured in the student protests, and they get a scrimpy wage with hardly any bonus's. but yet bankers get million, i feel the front line officers should get more. they police the streets not sit behind a desk all day looking at interest rates.House Deposit Savings = £3220:T
Aiming for £5000 by Christmas.:beer:0 -

I believe that many more people apply to be police officers than they can use. It's the labour market I'm afraid.0 -
A friend of mine was a copper before. Said it's the biggest rort around - they are actively encouraged to turn the most minor ailment into long-term sickleave, and the numbers of those who magically get incapaciting injuries two years before retirement is staggering.
Add to that the stats for the number of coppers there are actually consigned to desk duty - you don't need to be a rocket scientist to work out the levels of malingering there are in the force.
And before anyone comes at the 'it's a stressful job !!!!!!!!' so what? They knew what it was when they went into it. Last time I checked, noone was forced into the police force.0 -

Indeed, and look at the ones who killed an innocent newspaper seller during the protests in London eighteen months ago.
They're heroes, of course, all of them. God bless our boys in blue.0 -
The average bank worker is on or below the national average wage. PCs earn more than a typical bank clerk. You cannot compare the managing directors of global multi-national companies with a copper on the street. Two totally different roles and responsibilities.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Indeed and this is where people can’t understand the bonuses. If you’re responsible for generating a profit of hundreds of millions then you’d expect a few million yourself as reward.
It’s worth pointing out that the vast, vast majority of people in financial services don’t get anywhere near that sort of bonus because they don’t have that level of responsibility for profits.
If you choose to work in the public sector I don’t see why you’d expect a good bonus unless you had a direct impact on budgets/savings etc.0 -
So what happens when you're asked to do X+1 shifts then? Should they do the extra hours for free?
yes, do the job that needs doing. stop being a jobsworth. when i worked for a firm, i had to work all the hours i needed to to get the job done. i couldn't say, "its home time"
if you arrest someone at the end of your shift - tough.0
