If you know how to use a product security wise i would stick with it rather than learn a new product .
As been said recent test from AV Comparatives and other recent tests return Norton to a decent mid table showing with none of the problems that it had a couple of years ago .

Bizarre. There are plenty of free AV's online but the op just goes and buys the Norton virus anyway! Why ask on the first place??

Because he/she might be running a business/self employed.....where paid for auto updating whatever virus/firewall etc would be a requirement
The Free AV's are only for personal use.

    Hi
That for me is very easy to answer if its not broken don't mess with it , I have had no problems with norton in the last year , and I go halves with my friend .I have norton on the main computer and my laptop also my friends laptop so £30 well spent .
  • While I'm reluctant to post in what could develop into yet another "which is the best free antivirus" thread I certainly would not stick with Norton. It's a resource hog. Try uninstalling it when it expires and see how much more responsive your system is, assuming you can uninstall all the insidious files and startup items it dumps everywhere. You could always try Microsoft Security Essentials, it's free for business users (if you are one) and appears to be well reviewed.

When was the last time you saw Norton in use? For the second time, it's no longer like it was:

Your advice is out of date.
