As far as I am concerned Norton itself is a virus. Creates more difficulties and problems that it ever solves.
I have no virus software, you just need to be careful how you use your computer.0 -

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: so true! yep, give it a miss OP/ Avast is what I use /BLOODBATH IN THE EVENING THEN? OR PERHAPS THE AFTERNOON? OR THE MORNING? OH, FORGET THIS MALARKEY!

That certainly used to be the case with Norton but they've wised up. Latest incarnations of NIS and N360 are both lightweight and effective. BTW I'm not a Norton fanboy and I don't own it.
Anyway moot point because why pay when you can get good free AV - Avira, Avast, AVG, MSE etc604!0 -
Your online banking may supply free AV .
Barclays its Kaspersky 3 user internet security .
Those that knock the current Norton security are in ignorance of the true facts .
Current Avast getting reasonably high marks in tests .
My personal use only are still Eset Nod 32 and Kaspersky .

Amazon have Norton promotions from time to time, I paid £25 for a 3PC licence inc utilities, its currently £29.99.
Or get a free one.

I would remove Norton completely from your PC and sign up for Microsoft Security Essentials.... its free and I have been using ot for a few years without issue.0

"Advice re Norton"
Get rid of it, burn it to cinders, bury it in a lead lined box 300ft below the sea floor ;-)
I know a little over the top haha. But I agree with the others who say get rid
Go for something like Avast, or Microsoft Security Essentials. Both very good free onesThere are 10 kinds of people that understand binary

While there are certainly very good free anti virus's such as Avast and surprisingly well done Microsoft Security Essentials (AVG, not so much).
If you have been using Norton and feel conformable with it and don't really want the hassle of swapping internet Security's or learning a whole new system (they are all very easy to learn and are very much similar in layouts)
Norton IS2011 + Performance £34.00
Norton IS2011 £29.99
Norton IS2011 £24.97
Although I would also recommend a dedicate Spyware Sweeper (just a stand alone program that you run once every few weeks)0 -
Norton performed well in 2010:

I used to tell people to get rid of it.0 -
