New Car Problems?

Thanks for the replies all

I topped up the coolant last night and I will monitor over the next few days.
I have no reason to question the mileage as has FSH and looks to have been a very well looked after car which is why I am more concerned about the lack of coolant, is it something that does evaporate over time? The next service is due in the next couple of hundred miles but I would not imagine it would drop so low unless there was a leak somewhere.
I am less worried about the smoke now as it soon dissapears and condenasation/cold weather seems more likely and is affecting everyone on my estate
I have advised the dealer of the low coolant and advised me to bring it straight back if the level drops after topping up.
the water pump seals can go if the car is sat for some time or limited use, as the coolant can eat away at them if water isnt curculated, you can usually spot it if you get under the car look up to the bottom of the timing cover and see if there is a slow leak by the dampness (IF ANY), or slight dripping of water and sweat smell of antifreeze in the water if you touch it and sniff your hand.
THING TO BEAR IN MIND WITH PUGS
the gearbox's go relativly early on them and is a common problem.
coil packs are prone to go
crank sensors.
ABS Sensors go (if one goes get them all done as they will go inturn)
airbag lights can come on for no reason, and are a pain in the bum to rectify. (mainly erasing the code untill the light stays off)
fuel pump in tank (poor electrical solenoids) can give up.
oil filter seal leaks so replace rubber when you do filter change (should be in the box with filter).
mcpherson strut mounts go week after 18 months,
my recomendation is not to buy aftermarket (motor factors ones) anti roll bar rubbers (D bushes) buy maindealer ones they do last longer and hold the anti roll bar better.
exhaust manifolds crack.0 -
^^ Plus the alarms backup battery starts to fail causing false alarms and the alarm ultrasonic sensors die a death also causing false alarms
“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”
