I now hate spending!

I had my 'lightbulb moment' a couple of weeks ago, and posted my SoA last week. Since then I have managed to spend nothing, nada, zip, zero.....until today!

I had to pay a tenner deposit for a kilt hire, plus £5.50 on new pillows and 9p on a spending diary!

I HATED doing it!!! I felt like I was cheating!

I am used to spending £600+ pm on absolutely nothing!
But now I've turned into Scrooge!!!

It's GREAT!!!!! :rotfl: :T :rotfl: .......if it lasts..............

Well done, hope the Scrooge in you lasts, but don't let it totally control your life :) Only spend what I have now which is the biggest triumph :) No credit, no more debt. Amazing what I used to WASTE, and I do mean literally.

Take control of your life with what you now know, but don't let it take over you.
One day I might be more organised...........

I'm tighter than a camel's rear end in a sandstorm now! I keep telling myself that i can treat myself but i just can't bring myself to do it! I lowered my debts by £1020 last month which I was amazed at. Its an addiction :D

I get called 'Tighter than a Kippers A**' and thats water tight, but proud, don't waste as much now but still allow myself some treats. Put myself through a bit of cold turkey at first to get myself used to it. Now I get wrong for always being on the hunt for savings/bargians and freebies, not the one being moaned at for having too many shopping bags. My friend couldn't believe I didn't even fill a basket on the last shopping trip when before I used to need two trolleys.

I know what you mean! I get annoyed if I go to Tesco's and there's nothing good in the reduced section (live on my own so can basically decide what I want for dinner based on what's there!) Still refused to buy anything full price though so got a pizza that was on a half price deal. :p

It's so different to what I would've done a month ago. It's just so easy to waste money. I thinking planning is what it comes down to. For example I know that I'm going away this weekend so will need a book to read on the train. In the past I would've just grabbed something at the station for £7... now I'm going to go to Tesco/Asda in advance and get one for £3.73. Bargain! (Oh and then put it on Green Metropolis to sell it on for £3!)

I still do waste some money though on chocolate and diet coke which I should stop but hey, a girl has to have some pleasures (and the chocolate tastes even better when Tesco overcharge you and you get it free :T )

It's all good though and so what if people say you're tight - you won't be in debt soon and it feels so much better if you can buy things without feeling guilty! :money:

I am totally addicted to it now, and I love it! Our spending has come down massivley over a few months, at first I hated it, but now I get a real buzz out of not spending :j

I get the buzz out of having more left at the end of the month than I thought imaginable. :) Now that's addictive.
