                                  in Credit cards

                    Hello,
Any advice ont he following would be greatfully received.
For background, I have an Amex Platinum cashback card. Every month I pay off the necessary balance to earn the cashback which is generally between £900-£1400.
Instead of me paying this balance from my current account every month, I would like to pay this off monthly with anothe credit card, ideally one which gives me airmiles, or at the very least other consumer benefits.
I contacted Amex who stated I could not pay off one card with another of theirs. So, does anyone know the best card or process to be able to do this? If this is possible, of course!?
I don't mind setting up a new account if it's worth it.
I hope what i'm asking is pretty understandable, if not straight forward(!).
Thanks in advance for any help or advice that you can give.

You cannot pay credit with credit. Would be nice though

I have tried to think about this idea before, but I do not think it is possible.
Sorry!:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:D:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:jMe and the gang!!!0 -
            Not possible, sorry!
The only two ways you can pay one credit card with another are:- Balance transfer - usually has at least a 3% fee, and is not eligible for cash back or air miles
 - Money transfer to current account, then pay off card with that - usually has at least a 4% fee, not possible with all cards and is also not eligible for cash back or air miles

You're spelling is effecting me so much. Im trying not to be phased by it but your all making me loose my mind on mass!! My head is loosing it's hair. I'm going to take myself off the electoral role like I should of done ages ago and move to the Caribean. I already brought my plane ticket, all be it a refundable 1.0 -
            Ok, thank you.
Am hearing differing things from people I ask in person...which is a bit annoying.
So, for example, you are saying that if I get a Halifax CC (have a current account with them), I cannot ring up Amex and pay off the debt I have there with the new credit card?
Thanks again0 -
No. You can do a BT, and probably fee free if it's not a promotional rate, but you won't be earning miles or points. Otherwise people would just endlessly swap balances to rack up rewards.0

Yes, you can - you will pay at least 3% fee for it.. every time (and it is called "balance transfer", clue is in the name)
Basically what people are saying is that you cannot pay it off for free and as a matter of fact.
And you do not earn points on balance transfers. Ever. They are doing you a favour, why should they pay you for it as well.
If that was possible and usual, don't you think that there would be lots of people with thousands of debt on cards and just month after month would be swaping it from one card to another and never actually paying anything off?0 -

Never seen that yet unless "fee free" is a special promotion usually offered if you also have a current account with them..0 -
Most cards - certainly all the ones I've been involved in - don't charge for a BT if it's just going to your normal BT rate - which is generally the same as your normal retail rate. It's just treated like a big purchase.0

Sorry, but I disagree completely. What you are saying is, that it is completely possible to just pay off one card with another, for free, month after month and never pay interest then...
So when people just cannot afford their payments, all they can do is just pay one credit card with another and then back, for free, as long as they have different statement periods...
Somehow that doesn't add up, does it...
I took random card, MBNA and look at their T&C:
Charges Introductory rateBalance transfers made within 60 days of the account opening date 2.88% handling fee, min £3
Money transfers made within 60 days of the account opening date 4% handling fee, min £3Standard rateCash advances 3% handling fee, min £3Foreign currency 2.99% commission fee
Balance transfers 2.88% handling fee, min £3
Money transfers 4% handling fee, min £3
I will have a look at other, as I was never aware of such a loophole and I want this card that can do that!!
