    Happy Birthday Redruby:bdaycake:

Good evening, Brrrr its getting cold here, heating on. Thinks it might be another frost-scraping morning. Can't wait for pancakes tomorrow, making some at school, then more after parents night for my children.
It has been a lovely sunny day, DH got the washing out. DD has returned to uni after returning home VERY drunk last night. She tried to get out of the house with my car keys!
    Have a lovely evening everyone.

    Evening all!
    Happy birthday, Redruby!
Have had OH cluttering up the couch full of snot today, so couldn't get on with planned attack of living room. Made a vat of soup with the fridge bottom stuff, that will keep me filled up for work next 2 days, still feeling a tad washed out so not looking forward to 2 12hour shifts, the driving doesnt help, but hey-ho, needs must, and OH doesnt get paid when he is off! Had to sent some money to my brother from mum today, shes panicking , he lives in USA and whichever bank their mortgage is with is in such a bad state they think disaster is coming and they and many others may lose their homes, its a worry but cant do more than moral support from this distance!
Anyways, hugs to all in need!

Good news - Doctor has given me anti-sickness/anti-dizziness tablets :j but only a 2 week supply. I have to take up to 3 a day. But they can make you feel very drowsy so I have to be very careful re driving. Tomorrow I am only one who can drive for work so will see how I feel in morning and maybe not take first tablet til I get to where we are going. I've spoken to my boss and she is very supportive.

Bad news - I think my 16 year old cousin may be pregnant . I went to visit my nan after doctors (for pancakes :D) and she has just got a laptop and internet. So I was showing her how to do a few things, and a few of my favourite websites. When I showed her Google, I typed in something starting with 'h' and the predictive bit came up with "how big is a baby at 9weeks pregnant". I didn't mention it to my nan, but my cousins are the only other's who have used the lappy, and the other 2 are 11 and 8 so wouldn't likely to have googled that. I don't know what to do. I don't see my cousin very often (once a year maybe), but she lives nearish. We are facebook friends and occasionaly email there. I mentioned it to my mum and she thinks that my Nan would know as her and my cousin are very close. My mum said not to get involved - there are lots of issues on that side of the family. But I feel like i should perhaps offer her support if she needs it. I would be terrified if I was 16, unemployed and pregnant (I'd be terrified now lol!). I know my cousin sorta looks up to me cos I've helped many of her friends in my job, and she has told my nan this.

    Any suggestions?

some computers just add random stuff, i know my hubbys laptop does, i think your mums right tho if she is pregnant stay out of it, also i hated everyone knowing i was pregnant at the start i just wanted to be left in peace to become best friends with my loo and not asked how i was 100 times, also you could be wrong she might get offended and not ask for your advice should she need it later, best wait to see what happens if she's 9 weeks chances are she'll be telling people in 3 weeks anyway

    Happy birhday RedRuby :)

Just a quick pop in to read the thread.

Am having a lovely week so far (so what if i's only Monday :p). Have been on my sign language course today, and will be for the rest of the week. It's meant to be 9-5, but is actually 9.30-4 :rotfl:. I also managed to catch my manager today, who's told me that as of next week I'm working on a different ward :j

Rather than being deaf female medium secure, it's male, deaf low secure. And.... I'm with a new friend I met on our induction who's deaf and a brilliant BSL teacher and who I get on with really well. When I told him and we discovered we were on the same shift pattern he gave me a huge hug and told me he was really pleased :D

So that was my good news. On my old ward one of the patients has apparently been sending death threats to a member of staff, and staff are quite frankly running wild and breaking most of the rules of the place. My manager did tell me to forget the last two weeks and that she didn't want any more whingeing - thing is, she's never been on that ward, and I imagine she's got a huge shock coming her way. Anyway, I'm not there any more, so it's not my problem.

Still haven't heard from the OH - 5 days now. He's due home this weekend so he better not have been hijacked.

Hope everyone's ok, and hugs to those who need them.

    T xx
