old style daily thread Monday 7th March 2011

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Monday 7th March. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

I popped on before work saw no thread so thought I'd start it. hope I've not cross-posted with any of you.
As I said I'm off to work soon. Making a veggie pizza for tea. WM is on so should hang it out before work. Very frosty here.
Got training on Tourettes this afternoon.
Happy Birthday Redruby - hope you have a fab day!:bdaycake:

Mornin' everyone - not been around too much cos of work but I still try to read it all and happy to see some newbies coming in to add to the mix. :j
Had a busy old life recently and it looks to get even busier soon with a new work role, which I'm really chuffed about. Meanwhile I'm off on Tuesday and Wednesday using up my annual leave!
The weekend saw me doing nothing too much, still got the cold hangover which is threatening to explode back into full time and full on snot again so I took paracetamol and stayed in bed a lot. I enjoyed the rest. :T
Already had my bacon and eggs, just surfing a little before heading for the shower.
Happy Monday everyone.0 -

Happy Birthday RR.
Off to work here soon, had to scrape ice off the car this morning, brrr, but it should mean a sunny day today.Hubby's been dropped at the station with his pack up, breakfast eaten, the fish need to be fed, DW has been loaded.
Tea tonight will be sausage & mash as there are sausages left from the weekends breakfast.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Morning Tappers and all who follow ,Happy Birthday to redruby as well I hope you have a great one.Well looking out of my study window I can see across the River Medway and although the sky is verry pretty and streaked with pink, blue and purple its blooming freezing at the moment .
The gardens are covered with a light dusting of frost, so spring hasn't arrived just yet awhile.
School run this morning then a trip down to Sainsburys to see if they can knock up a 18th birthday cake for my Grandaughter's birthday this Thursday. My DD usually makes the cakes but she has been working quite hard just lately so I said I'd see how much Sainsbury's will charge. We are having a family get together this Thursday night at Frankie & Bennies in Cuxton for around 15 people then she will have a 'do' with her college pals on Saturday.
Uni tonight and we are studying Oxford on our route about the Thames from the 'Sea to the source'
I made a litre and a half of apple and parsnip soup yesterday and used up the wrinkly apples I had so lunch will be soup this week.Right I'm off to get the kettle working as I feel in need of a large cuppa to warm me up.The heating has clicked on but it takes about half an hour to warm the house right up.Hope everyone has a good Monday morning
Take care all

Dinner tonight is a steak sandwich with mushrooms and spinich in a creamy sauce, which OH and dd have promised to cook :T
Will do some washing today, as it promises to be a lovely day, although its freezing here atm.

Morning all
Dry, bright and chilly here this morning. DH up and off to work at stupid early o'clock. Got up at 5.40am got ready and went for a jog, leg still pulling a bit, but warmed up really well so will just have to take it steady.
Drank and ate way too much over the weekend yet again, but now have several weeks with not that much going on before we have lots on from the end of April, so really need to focus and get this last bit of weight off so I can be maintaining a steady weight by then.
Dinner tonight is spag bol etc as have parents evening for DS2 at 6pm. Working at the other office today so a 15 minute drive but nice to be doing something different and tends to be less hectic.
Spoke to my friend and her hubby last night, they've just moved house so we're going over next weekend, she's one of my oldest friends, so always good to catch up but they both work and have busy lives, but we do try to keep in touch and have dinner/lunch together every so often. They also have gorgeous girl who is 1 year old, so I get to do cuddles and then hand her back!
Have put washing out on the line, there doesn't appear to be any wind but it just looks so clear and nice I had to put the washing out! Will just get it in later and put it on the airer to finish drying if it's not dry.
Weekend away was nice, have had a bit of a cold again, but feel much better again this morning, hoping that was it.
Now leak has been mended under sink, (left cupboard empty since plumber left on Friday to make sure still not leaking) need to put everything back in the cupboard, will need to sort items first before I put it all back - seems quite a lot for 1 cupboard!? Not sure how it all fitted in!
Not much else to say really, keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.

Good morning Taplady, Gers, Hester, JackieO, Redruby and all to follow,
Happy birthday RR. Steak is a favourite birthday food here for DH, DD1, DS, DD2, DDIL and me. The DGSs & SIL are not so keen as they generally prefer chicken.
Yesterday's steak & mushroom pie was lovely. DH put in the leftover hm peppercorn sauce from the day before.
Dinner tonight will be chicken tikka (a DGSs favourite), lo pie filling from yesterday made into Rogan and Saag aloo made with the perennial spinach from the garden - DH will pick it later.
Need to pick up DGSs for the school run so better get going. Will hang out washing when I get back as we have blue skies and sunshine here atm. Very cold at the moment but due to warm up a fair amount later.
Hugs to all who need or want.
Happy Monday, Silver xOutside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside of a dog it's too dark to read.

Morning All,
Well I'm back after having no internet or landline since Weds due to some thieving toerags ncking the copper wire from the local exchange:eek: due to them half the village has been incommunicado.
Haven't had time to catch up yet, will do so shortly but just wanted to wish RedRuby a Happy Birthday & send hugs to anyone in need.
