Ryanair: Regular Fare vs No Taxes

Hi!

Could somebody give me an insight into the mechanism that is behind pricing final ticket charge with or without fees and taxes?

I have been looking for flights from UK within 7 days, before Easter holidays and this summer and september and noted that tikets with "no taxes" label appear out of the blue as separate days or whole weeks.

-I don't know what it depends on and also whether it changes as the time (and interest in the flight) goes by?

Big big thanks for your help.

If there is a flight on sale for £5 with no taxes, it means that Ryanair are making a loss on that seat, as the taxes (around £20 total) have to be paid to the government and the airport regardless. So they offer this on flights with fewer bookings hoping to boost the number of passengers, then hope that those passengers make up their income to a profit with anciliary revenue, eg. priority boarding, baggage, onboard purchases etc. Last year, I bought a ticket for EUR12 including credit card fee at 3 weeks notice, and a friend bought a seat on the same flight just 3 days before departure for EUR30. That flight cannot have made Ryanair much money, especally as neither of us spent any more money!

Based on what you've said I am assuming that lack of tax charges over 3 out of 4 weeks in (holiday) August (at least of today) is done to attract first customers to these flights? -Could anyone verify this?

This would mean that this charge can appear on these flights when the interest rise? -does it also disappear when interest falls?

there are always "no taxes" fees on random dates and on random routes other than those which are included in the ryanair sale's specified months. As you say there are some such prices in the school holidays. Once these no taxes seats are sold they will revert to ordinary fares and the prices will go up as seats are bought. there will then at a later date perhaps be more "no taxes" fares introduced if Ryanair want to fill seats.

If you think you might book a flight with Ryanair, then do yourself a favour and get a prepaid mastercard now. Do not wait for when you want to book flights, as it takes about a week to arrive. FairFX currently have an offer to get a free card (it's usually £9.95), when you top up with a minimum 10Euros (less than £9).

    First go to FairFX

    https://www.fairfx.com/

Then order a prepaid card in Euros. You do not need to pay for the card, even if you only top up 10 Euro. The trick is do this in advance, and keep the card in your wallet. If you are going to book a flight, then top it up online just before booking. As this is a prepaid mastercard, this avoids paying their card booking fees.

I also use it for paying for stuff when abroad, as it has a better Euros rate than any cash exchange and most bank cards (no foreign loading fees).
