Free anti-virus software - help plz

I have just recieved a notifictaion from AVG that from the end of December they will be charging for their anti-virus software and I wondered if anyone knew of any other good free anti-virus software I could use?

Are you sure? I recently had a notification that the old version won't be supported for much longer and I needed to upgrade to 7.5 (free). I've done so and haven't been nagged since.0

I quite agree this has been discussed on numerous occassions and absolutely no-where on the AVG pop-up can I see where it says AVG will be charging only and no free AV?

Am i the only one that uses Avast ? i tried AVG and never liked it,half the time it wouldnt update for me,yet Avast always updates and never had any problems with it .0

Yes, didn't you get the memo? "Let's all fool imho to be the only one to use Avast"Personally I use McAfee Enterprise which does quite a good job.
