3 Sim Card

Please excuse me if posted in the wrong place. Anyway I have got a 3 mobile contract which I started back in April. As of today my phone stopped working, well not the phone as such. A message appeared on my phone saying please insert USIM. I tried a friends sim in my phone, as he is on 3, on vice versa. His Sim works in my 3 phone, yet my sim doesn't work on his phone. Basically my sim card is knackered! I phoned up 3 to tell them this and they are demanding a payment of £17.50 for a new sim. I really do not want to pay this, any other way round it, advice etc much appreciated.

    Have you done anything abnormal with the sim? Say taken it out a handful of times a week? If not, pay the £17.50 & send them a letter telling them that the sim was not fit for purpose & that you want a refund of £X for Y days loss of use, plus the £17.50 within 7 days or you will file a court claim for it.
    Certain OTT members have caused me to add this disclaimer: all advice given is free of charge & as such should be taken to be IIRC (as I don't spend hours researching all answers :eek: )!

  • takeing it your still on the contract? mabey tell 3 that i cannot use the services as your sim card it not working and that you would like to cancel....mabey they might give you one to keep you on? mabey?
