About to run out of emergency credit on my electric

what about a neighbour? whats the minimum you can put in? maybe in future have a cash float for emergencies.0
-
And if you don't get it sorted, like others have said, make some sarnies and perhaps try and make a game out of it for the kids? Everyone snuggle together with loads of blankets and duvets to keep warm. Play some board games?0

I haven't got any neighbors & this is a one off caused by the banks incompetence, normally we cope.0

They apparently dont have an out of hours number. This is a complete nightmare. It's not even a warm house & all of the kids are scared of the dark, one is also partially sighted so being in the dark is worse for him. I've never been in this situation before & I hate it.0

Try calling the emergency call centre (like you would if you had a power cut) they may send out an engineer to credit your meter if they feel your situation warrants it, they might charge you for the call out if they do though.0

I know I am probably going to get stick for this but wouldn't it have been easier to turn off the computer and make the kids beans on toast /cheese on toast..you get the idea
I am really not sure what anyone could do in this situation rather then just wait until morning, what would happen if there was a power cut ? When I was a kid we had power cuts all the time (during maggies years) and we coped.
It is not that cold at the moment thankfully so I am sure a night without heating will not really hurt.
Sorry but not sure what is expected here other then sympathy and although that is nice and lovely it will not get the electric back onThere is a race of men that don't fit in; A race that can't stand still;
So they break the hearts of kith and kin, and roam the world at will.

Hi Jadzeer
Sorry to hear about the problems you've had with your emergency credit.
If you have disabled children at the property it might be worth you looking into having a credit meter installed as this way you can make sure your electricity will never go off supply.
If you would us take a look into your account for you and see if this is possible, send your details to forumresponse@npower.com
Best Wishes
Sally

Thats a sensible idea and one night without heating wont do any harm you can always put a blanket over you, we do in our house to save on energy costs, and we also have meals that are basic too to cut down on expensive shoppingGothicfairy wrote: »I know I am probably going to get stick for this but wouldn't it have been easier to turn off the computer and make the kids beans on toast /cheese on toast..you get the idea

If you telephone your supplier and explain you situation. They will give you a code to take to your local shop where you get your electric. The shop will put the code on your key and that will give you £10 of electric credit. They will take the £10 back at £1 a week. They normally only let you do this once.0
