I had a Bt business broadband and phone package, I wished to move to talk talk because it was much cheaper, so i applied, when BT contacted me to ask if i wished to go ahead with the switchover I said it depends upon the charages, I was told the total charge would be £223, ok, I would still save money!
After the 14 day cancellation period had passed BT sent me a bill for over £750 !!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!
I am refusing to pay this! can they do this!?

What is the £750 for, can you itemise is, and others can see if it has been calculated correctly.
You probably only have the assistant's verbal assurance that it would be 223.00, nothing on paper, so this is probably going to involve a drawn out negotiation.0 -
rental charges £412.60
one off charges £22.00
vat £86.92
usage charges £74.29
recurring charges £124.56
vat £38.590 -
I also have in writing a letter from BT estimating the charges to be £83.200

Hard making sense of the numbers they quoted you.
One possibility is: that the early termination fees were reduced last October for residential customers. Though I am not sure that applied to business customers.
The quote for the charges might have been what a residential user might have been charged.
What I'd do, personally, is pop a letter over to them, by recorded delivery, with a cheque for 83.20 and enclosing a copy of the letter you have pointing out the bill is incorrect (from the figues given to you, so you're paying the quoted figure) and see where it goes from there.0
