Decent hotel required in Llandudno

I'm planning a over night stay in Llandudno middle of May. I would prefer to be in the vicinity of Cymru Arena as I'm going to a show which is on there.
Can anyone recommend a decent but reasonably priced hotel or place to stay?

Try the Can-y-Bae hotel which is located about a 5 min walk from Venue Cymru and also a few minutes walk from the town centre. It's very highly rated (although being a local I've never stayed there so can't speak from experience).

"JUBILANT hoteliers are celebrating scooping top honours in an online hotel guide for the second year running. The Can y Bae Hotel on Llandudno’s world famous promenade has excelled again in the TripAdvisor Awards. Last year, it won the British Bargain Hotel Winner award. This year it has moved into a wider category and finished eighth in the World’s Top Ten Bargain Hotel rankings. It has also come fourth in the Top 25 hotels in the UK as rated by European travellers."

The most convenient hotel is the Cae Mor which is right next door to Venue Cymru and also has a large car park, which is a bonus in Llandudno, but has mixed reviews on TripAdvisor.

I intend to enjoy the Manics lol.
Just need to suss out the cheapest way to get to Llandudno from the north east coast
I would drive down, but I suffer from travel sickness & long journeys by road are a no no for me.
Are there any beach huts in Llandudno by the way? I love anything olde seaside.0 -
If you are travelling by car be warned that a lot of hotels don't have much in the way of car parks if any.
If you don't mind a walk down the prom, you could try the Lansdowne.
PS You could have a look round via Google Streetview.

No beach huts but Llandudno is a Victorian town and the powers that be are very keen to keep it that way. If you've got time to spare have a stroll down the Pier, admission is free.
I'm not sure about the cheapest way to get here from the North East but I often see a National Express coach with 'Newcastle' showing as it's destination so that's an option but probably a bit of a trek. National Rail is showing advance single fares between Newcastle and Llandudno at £26.50 so you can get here and back by train for £53.00 if you're quick enough. Llandudno railway station is in the centre of town so within easy walking distance of pretty much every hotel and guest house in town. The fridge is empty, the walls are damp, there's no hot water

My friend from Durham frequently travels down by train, there is a station in llandudno. I think she only has one change at Manchester if she times it right.I don't know if I'm getting better or just used to the pain.

I can recommend the Wellington Hotel. It is opposite the pier (not sure how far that is from where you need to be). Exceptionally helpful staff, lovely fresh fruit for breakfast (along with all the other traditional breakfasty things). We always stay there for the Victorian Extravaganza/transport festival.

Are any of the premier/travel inn types of accomodation close to the venue?0

Unfortuneately there aren't any. There is definately a market for them near Venue Cymru. But there are plenty of hotels/B&B's in Llandudno. Most are within easy reach & a nice walk from VC.0

I have been to the Cae Mor and it was really nice but a bit pricey. Can Y Bae is great, lovely owners and a little cheaper. If you go to the other side of Venue Cymru (going away from the pier) you will find the establishments on Craig y Don parade are much cheaper. Sherwood is definitely one I would go to again and is really reasonably priced.0 -

There is a Premier Inn but it is an uphill walk from Venue Cymru, halfway up the little Orme. It's not ideal if you don't have a car with you.0
