Electric Radiators - getting cheaper?
Comments
-
From what I understand, these radiators only use the electric to get up to the temperature you want, then actually stop drawing power. As I say, I've only recently moved in so haven't had chance to crunch the numbers yet. Currently on Economy 7 which I have mixed feelings about as well, but I'll see how it goes.
So do oil filled radiators, they still cost a fortune to use on standard rate electricity.0 -
One Kw/h of electricity will only supply a one Kw bar of an electric fire for one hour. Or one Kw of any other electrical load whether it's filled with oil, air , or yoghurt!
It will cost the price of one "unit" of electricity.I am not a cat (But my friend is)0 -
There just Oil rad with a gel rather than Oil the running cost will be same as a oil rad.0

this lot claim their rads run on 1 or 2p a day........ does anyone know anything about them - at face value it all seems pretty good.
Id welcome the opinion of anyone in the know
You don't seriously think that, if there was such a thing as a radiator that only cost 1 or 2p a day to run. There would be any other form of heating anywhere in the country. Such a heater would solve the world's energy crisis on its own. But, if you do find that this magic radiator exists, please let us all know, so that we can get in the queue before it reaches 5 miles in length.I can afford anything that I want.

its no wonder they say education is wasted.Get some gorm.0

1-2p an hour is a tad unrealistic lol. Our Farho radiators run at around 20p an hour but our range is a lot more... "programmable"? Than our competitors at "economy-radiators".
