H&M - Took Off the Price Tag But I Want to Return the T-shirt Back?

Hello,

One quick question - bought a T-shirt from H&M yesterday, didn't have time to try it on as I always assume that I am size S. Turned out to be, it was a super tight kind of material and didn't fit my body!

Only realised this when I already took off the price tag. The T-shirt is still in re-saleable condition - still have the store smell on it.

Am I allowed to return this? Any chance? It's an £8 t-shirt, not a lot of money but still it is equivalent of a week worth of lunch.

Please help me, thanks very much x

Once purchased, you have no statutory right to return anything unless it's faulty?

    Is it faulty?

    What is H&M's return policy?

Do you still have the receipt?

It all depends on H&M's returns policy. The item is fit for use, so as wealdroam said you have no legal right to return it. The fact that you took the label off won't help.

From reading on the net, it appears that their policy is "

    With receipt:
30 days for a full return or exchange with garment in original condition. If you paid with a card, you must have that same card with you to get the refund"

Whether removing the tag means it's still "original condition" is up to them.

If they refuse a refund, they may well be happy to offer store credit which I would accept if they say no to a refund.
One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.

If the item is mislabeled, as in it doesn't match the description, e.g., it is smaller than the size indicated on the label, you are entitled to a refund.
The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark

    Flyboy, please read the OP.

He/she didn't try it on and "assumed" it would fit. He/she is not "entitled" to a refund.

That makes no difference. If the item has been mislabeled and the item of clothing is not as described, she is entitled to a refund.

You are giving misleading advice here. What is the legal definition of "S".

You won't have any problems taking. It back, especially if you want a medium instead.
I love how people want to jam down your throat that they don't legally have to take it back.. They do because they say so in their returns policy!
