All the hampers are fab. I was wondering if you folks are considering set up your own businesses making and selling hampers?
  • Jamtart6, that looks fabulous and i wouldnt have thought you could get it to look as nice as that by using a plant pot but it looks REALLY good!

How did you manage to get the sweeties to stay upright? This is a huge problem that i have when making hampers up.

Does anyone have any tips? I have used tissue paper but find that it moves too! :-s

For those of you doing bath/beauty type hampers, I have just bought some spa lights in Poundland. You get two per pack for £1. They are just the floating ones that float in the bath, but at a £1 per pack, they are bargainous. Have bought two packs as I'm sure I'll use them in a hamper...

Strangely though, they were in the section with the tools? So, don't just go to the 'beauty' section looking for them!

I noticed they also have the bath pillows with the suckers on which again are perfect to stick in a hamper.

My dd has been invited to her friends 9th birthday party on Tuesday so we have put together a hamper for her. My daughter chose the theme, which is "Purple Pets".

    p1010001tv6.jpg

I forgot to photograph it before I wrapped it so it's not so easy to see all the contents but here's a rough idea:

    - The rectangular base is a Cats & Kittens colouring book (wrapped in purple tissue paper) - 99p (local book shop)
    - Basket - 19p (Charity shop)
    - Purple Mug - 39p (Woolworths)
    - 2 x Cadburys Dairy Milk - 15p (McColls)
    - Cadburys Hot Chocolate sachets - 55p (McColls)
    - Cute Cat 2008 Diary - 99p (Poundstretcher)
    - 2 x Purple Cat ornaments - 99p each (Famous Little Stores)
    - Puppy bookmark - 10p (charity shop)
    - Snowglobe - 50p (charity shop, but daughter has personalised it adding a cute cat/puppy picture).
    - Mini puppy notebook - DD got it free with a magazine.
    TOTAL = £5.99

The tissue paper was £1.39 for a pack of 50 different colour sheets (BARGAIN!) from my local discount store.

The cellophane was from an ebay store: http://stores.ebay.co.uk/bits-n-bobs-neilh1109

The pullbows also from an ebay store: http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Floradeb-Flowers

I forgot to add that on 30th November I'm having a stall at my kids school fair and I'll be making some hampers to sell there (as well as selling some canvases I've painted). So excited and nervous!
