Sorry if this is in the wrong place, but I think somewhere on this thread was the Harry Potter 'Honeydukes' sweets idea. I have decided to do this for my husband's nieces for Christmas. Have most of the sweets I need now and was thinking of what container to use. Then thought of a plastic cauldron and obviously with Halloween coming up it's the perfect time to find one. I got mine in Matalan (they had 3 for 2 on their Halloween stuff). So got it for a couple of quid.
On another note, thought I'd add my own suggestion. Something my Mum has done for me and others in my family on special number birthdays is to buy us things beginning with our first name initial. So for my 30th Birthday, she bought me 30 small things beginning with C. It was brilliant opening all of these! Took ages! It's amazing what weird and wonderful foods etc. you can find that begin with a certain letter!0 -

For my mum's 50th, I got her 26 pressies each relating to a letter of the alphabet. It was great fun to organise and I did a clue for each pressie in an envelope too. Took hours to get through, but it was great and made the day extra special.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

I love the ideas of hampers for gifts and have started making them up for my nieces for xmas. I managed to get bath robes off half cost a few weeks ago, have bought wash mitts and cupcake bathbombs from HB (thanks for that tip too!!). I have just received the strawberry muffin cases from Ebay and would like to make sock cupcakes with them but I am having a problem finding slipper socks cheap enough. Does anyone know where I can get them form and any more ideas for the "bathtime" theme hamper? The girls range from 3 to 11. Thanks.:o
For my sock muffins i got the fleecy ones from primark- in a pack of 2 for £2 and the colours/ patterns are nice too :-) HTH:jTrying to save as much as i can :THave started my christmas hampers :-)0 -

blushingbride - I just got my cheap baskets in instore. They have unlined small ones from £1, and lined from £2, including one with a really nice patterned fabric for £2 and some bamboo lined ones for £2.50 (great for smellies/toiletries).
Didn't see chocolate calendars in my nearest store though, shame!0 -
Was in Primark today and they now have fluffy socks on 3 colours pack of 2 - £2.00
Kids ones also go up to size 4-7 and are £1.75 for 2.
They also have xmas slipper socks with cats and dalmations heads attached for £1.00 and 4 xmas designs - polar bears, xmas trees and 2 others that I can't remember I know one was pink for £1 as well. These are in the kids section but also go up to 4-7.
HTHOfficially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended
