Well this morning I am heading out into a different town in the hope of finding some goodies in home bargains! I may even go to 2 towns and visit 2 home bargains! I am also on the lookout for the baking decorations cheap from sainsburys, so far I have had no look so today in this sainsburys is my last hope if none there I will pay full price! (shock horror!)
Yesterday I popped into the town locally and nipped into interflora they had some lovely ribbon that was christmassy and it was 25p a metre which is cheaper than the thinner stuff, I might get some next week and see if I can use it. Failing that I know I can use it on the nappy cakesAlso in interflora they had baskets, some were very expensive however some of them were only £1.50 but they are the kind with the handle and the ones I want for easter for the 2 children and OH so I will probably grab some of them next week. This kind pictured here:
sorry picture is a little bit small but you get the idea.
Someone posted a fabulous site for hamper baskets online? does anyone remember who it was or where the link was?

Sorry I snipped your post ...
Do you mind if I steal your idea? That would be fantastic and there are so many recipes you could use for kids cakes!Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -
If you don't want to buy a laminator, I noticed in the Post Office yesterday that they had a 'self laminating' make your own postcard from photos kit. It was about £2.70 for 5 postcard sizes. I guess you could write the recipes on card then use this simple kit to laminate them.0

Rusty - I have just been to Wilkinsons and forgot to look how much the laminating things are doh!!
They didnt have the Calendars in so will try again next week. Managed to get one of the Mummys little helpers aprons, they only had one left and its dark blue so not girly at all. It says fits 4-7 and I'm hoping it will fit my grandson who is 8?? I might take it back and change it for something else yet, have to think about it. My grandaughter is very girly and would want a pink apron, I have seen lots on Ebay in different styles so will go on Slicethepie and try to earn some pennies to buy them off there. Thought of making them but after looking for the thicker cotton found it will probably not work out much dearer to buy them.
Picked up a nice box in Aldis which I've just finished covering for the big hamper.
Papworth - I will have a look in our post office and see if they have the self laminating thing, might not as its in WH Smiths. Thanks for that.0 -

Also had a look on Amazon this morning and they have a few nice looking cook books for kids (searched Kids Cooking) and they have now made their postage free if you spend over £5. Might see how much a small laminator is and write them out some recipes too (printer is broken). It would come in useful at other times too.
Hi
I know a while back Wilkinsons had laminators reduced to around £12.99 - they had them a few weeks back so may still have them now. If you are doing small recipe cards I have seen the backs of self laminating, the type for ID cards and I think Wilkos sell those also.

Hi Rufusdog, I know my MIL has a laminator down at the club, I work on sats there so can easily nip in and borrow theirs
They had loads of the aprons in Wilkos today and they were £1.99 each ... I saw the dark blue one and thought about my little boy but I might try and make him one. See if I can find some kind of pattern or something.
I went into home bargains and they had very little however they did have a big build your own dinosaur for £2.99 which required no glue its slotted together and wood! I also found some smaller ones so grabbed 2 for my son for christmas these were 99p.
The sainsburys I went to had some of the cheaper cake decos yay! I managed to get a couple of different bits so need to put them together now and anything else I want to add to it I will have to get full price.Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -
hey all, fantastic hampers as always! i have been busy collecting things but have seen so many brilliant ideas and themes on here i have been buying stuff without really considering what i am giving to who, so tomorrow (whilst OH is out the way) i need to have a really big sort out and finalised what hamper everyone is getting, my spare bedroom is starting to look like a xmas shop!
i am loving poundland at the moment, no end of great little bits that would be suitable for various hamper themes, lots of bath stuff, kids character items like bratz and HSM, a pink range of tools and car bits plus they have started to get their xmas range out and they have some plastic xmas bowls, plates, cups etc. the packs of cups are 5 for £1 and they are little tumblers with a xmas design on, think they have red or blue, thought they would be good to fill with sweets for kiddies hampers.0 -

The frame I have is lovely, pretty sure it's the same. What I haven't tried yet is to record a message. I haven't sorted out a photo yet either. It's for the OH so was going to try and get the boys to sing a song or something:wave: If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -
RustyFlange wrote: »Flannels fitting in cases queen :rotfl:that is the funiest thing I have heard ... I have smaller cases now and I can't do single ones for the life of me!!!
Oliviasmummy all I can say is that on the first page of the *does anyone know how to make this* thread I did a tutorial which hopefully will be easy enough to understand/help. Give it a try, if that doesn't work then I will try and help in a different way?
What do you mean you can't do single ones- but you can do those ultra complicated double ones...?
I'll do single ones for you if you'll do double ones for me:wave: If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -

Rainmac I think we need to have a talk ..... You want a basket, I want a basket ... Maybe we should make one for each other :rotfl: would be even better when we move into live with Mary
If you lived nearer me I would be there like a shot but the postage for a basket would be  Move down south a bit and you've got a deal:wave: If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0
