I'm trying to put together a hamper for my aunty. She's off to St Lucia on Nov 6th, for 5 months and so she'll be away over Christmas.

My aunty just loves flip flops, so I've picked up some of them to put in and also I found a flip-flop shaped photo frame in Wilkos to include. I thought about putting some suncreams in and also thought about getting the family (my mum and my other aunts) to record messages to put on a CD for her.

I did think with her travelling, it might be better for me to put the hamper together in a beach bag or something - not sure where I'll be able to find a beach bag now.

I'm just not sure what else to put in and I was just wondering if anyone could please help me with ideas.

    Thanks in advance
    Katie

Check out Wilkinsons as apparantly they have a 99% sale on summer stuff. It was mentioned on the Grabbit board so not sure if its just at a particular store but may be worth checking out, maybe call your local one before making a special journey.

Apparently flip flops reduced to 4p

Ooooh also instead of a beach bag, maybe one of those nice bags for life? There are some lovely ones about at the moment. Try this place:

Also perhaps some travelling books on St Lucia and/or surrounding areas

Try TKMax... If not, what about something like: http://www.marksandspencer.com/gp/product/B001GRZ84O/sr=1-4/qid=1223243736/ref=sr_1_4/202-8449463-5203043?ie=UTF8&node=43181030&m=A2BO0OYVBKIQJM&keywords=&mnSBrand=core&size=9&rh=&page=

    Or the boots bag: http://www.boots.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10052&productId=118724&callingViewName=&langId=-1&catalogId=11051

they are to go in a "beer" themed hamper what do you think?

All hampers are fab as always:D

Tesco and Woolies sell the cola bottles - 3 bags sweets for £1 (I think) ;)

How about a travel journal so she can record her thoughts? You can buy these from Paperchase or just buy a notebook and add a label or decorate so your Aunt knows what the book is for.

    I wuz robbed  - I paid 10p for mine ;)

Tbh, I was in a rush when I bought them and wasn't sure if the reductions had just started or were just ending, but I did pick up a large pink straw beach bag too for 10p. It needs a tiny stitch as it had a silver thread running through it and it had come adrift at the corner. Still a good bargain at 10p :)

freetobeme M&S online had some suncare items reduced by 80% but not sure if they might be too bulky? The Sun Formula Facial Aftersun (£5) and Sun Formula Revival Firming & Toning Skin Soother (£9.50) were just two of the range I bought, but they went through similar to the 342 & 50% off and free delivery.

This might seem excessive, (but I belong to a family of sun-worshippers so bought extra for them as I rarely use it ;)) but I bought 15 of each of the items above and the total was £217.50 ... :o but after the promotions kicked in, the total including free delivery, dropped down to just £43.50 ..!! :)

Also, Boots are issuing the £5 off vouchers on Wednesday wys £5 (I think) and they're for £5 off No7 (and Ruby & Millie I think) so you should be able to get, using the voucher, at least 1 x No7 lip & eye screen for 75p, or 1 x No7 Glossy Locks (large bottle though) for 75p too. Possibly even more if the 342 is still on. (Sorry, that doesn't appear to make much sense, but it's early ;))

On some clearance shelves in Boots, they're also doing disposable waterproof cameras for £1.50 but bogof.

Can I just say if you are buying marshmallows for your cousin and partner make sure they dont have any gelatine in.

    AMANI XXX

This is a good point, but be warned, it's nigh on impossible to find gelatine-free marshmallows. I think vegan store on the Internet sells them, but every time I looked over the summer they were sold out. In fact, they're so hard to find I don't think I've had a marshmallow since I turned veggie at 13 (so 10 years!).
