Hello all, only been away from thread today and it's grown by about 4-5 pages in one day!

To join in ther kiddie chat, my son Jack starts school on Tuesday next week  He's very excited :D

Rusty, love the baby baskets. Sending you massive good luck wishes with your stall at the weekend. You are bound to do brilliantly as your stuff is gorgeous and really well priced :D

Melon, wow, lots of hampers :T They are all fab, well done :D Also love the piccie of your daughter. DS2 is nearly 20 months and I have no idea where those months have gone. He is loads of fun and loads of trouble ;)
 If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain

Thanks for the wishes. really appreciate them. I didn't know how to price them all to be honest but OH sat me down and worked out prices with me then I just add a couple of quid on top. :) Hopefully I will sell at least one lol if not I think I will cry and then never make another in my life!

  • Hi there

I thought I would join in to say thanks for all these great ideas

Ive been lurking for a while stealing ideas !

I made my first basket a few weeks ago and Ive got obsessed now

Im not sure how to post photos so bear with me! but I will describe my first hamper! it was for a friend who loves gardening as a 'thank you for having us to stay for a weekend ' . I have a five year old who helped me and shes obsessed with making flannel cupcakes at the moment:D

it was a green gardening trug from asda...and in it I put a little plant pot/bird feeder/spray bottle/handcream and some sweets
for her partner we just filled a silver planter/bucket with sweets the buckets were 1.00 from asda - but now 50p! so I felt the need to go back and buy more;)

they are the only ones I have completed and given out (they both loved them)

I have bought loads of the kids gardening things today from asda as they had kneepads with gardening gloves for 75p then tool sets for 75p! so I intend to buy some plastic plant pots to fill with these

another idea (which I stole off here) is a mixing bowl filled with cake mixes, wooden spoon and sprinkles (as loads were reduced in asda to 13P) ....its cost me under 3.00 and I thought would be good for those parties where they invite the whole class so pressents are hard to buy

Hope you dont mind me dropping in

Thanks again and keep the ideas coming - I love it!

I think it's a certainty that I will cry :o OH has the day off work so he can prop me up and help me back home while I am sobbing :rotfl:

Don't forget to add money on for the time it takes you to make your cakes. They are so beautiful, they are more than worth the money ;) Do you have business cards? If so, don't forget to take loads with you for repeat business. And add one to your cakes somehow so the recipient will know who you are too. Are you excited? I'm excited for you! If you lived anywhere near me I'd love to come and give you a hand.

Awww I want to cry for you just now! I remember sobbing like a complete baby and having to run back round to the car when my little one started school. I was on my own though so had no support.

I haven't added any money on them for the time it takes. I can make a 3 tier cake in about 20 mins max and the smallest ones take me 5 mins lol (see I am an old hand now ;) ) I am waiting for some business cards to arrive and have a lovely duck punch which I plan to use in the corner to have the cards hanging from the ribbon on the cellophane. I also have business cards for the table aswell as menus (flyers) Thanks for your help with everything. I am nervous about it as I don't think I will sell any but on the same note I am excited.

These could be made from fleece and added to a nappy cake or hamper for a newborn or added to a pyjama hamper for young children. Cute or what and so easy to make.:)

  • Sorry if already posted here or elsewhere, but Mr Sainsbury has toys on offer atm, up to 75% off- bigger stuff and stocking fillers ideal for filling kiddies hampers. I picked up some fireman sam walkie talkies for 1.75, fifi figures and game for 1.25 each. They also had thomas diecast trains for 1.25, barbies from £1 each, various stuff for smaller kids and lots more.

Arts and craft stuff was also 75% off some items- ideal if you are doing a crafty hamper
