Hello everyone, sorry for butting in but just started looking through this thread and thinking about maybe doing some baskets this year now you have all inspired me...
Just a thought (although some of you may already go there) Aldi have some good bits and pieces at the moment for kids, sets of hair clips/jewellery in blue and pink, lots of different books and also some nice cushions with animals on. Some of them are still full price but thats £1.50 say, others have been reduced....
Also some beauty stuff like body butter and some of their packs of biscuits would be lovely for the 'tea tray' baskets.Mum to 2 lovely boys who keep me busy.0 -
Hello Maz............you're not butting in at all so no need to be sorry.
I don't have an Aldi near where I live (sadly lacking Poundland and Wilkos too
but I'm sure others will find it useful. Mary
I'm creative -you can't expect me to be neat too !

Just wanted to share my bargain of the day. Have been to Home Bargains, Wilkos and the 99p Store for Xmas bargains and bought a couple of these baskets for 99p from the 99p Store...

The baskets measure 50cm x 37cm at the rim (very approximately!).
They are lovely and what a bargain for 99p!!!
Here's the 99p Store URL if you want to see if there's one near you - http://www.99pstoresltd.com/
Also bought 2 massive rolls of lovely Xmas wrapping paper for 99p each. If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -
I've got all the things together for my sister-in-laws basket (although spent far too long on my lunch break) except I failed to find a basket, or any suitable container! I trawled all over town but to no avail. I hope our Morrisons has something on my way home, as that's my last hope!
York seems to be lacking any cheap shops sadly as we don't have a Woolies (closed a few months ago), 99p shop or home bargains and the only Wilkinsons is in a retail park that without a car I can't get to! My first basket is looking like it will no longer be a basket!
And I was getting so excited about it as well. 0 -
I got a set of 3 baskets from Morrisons for £9.99. They are covered with beige/pale greenish hessian, lined with a pale green fabric and have leatherlook handles and corners. Around the top of the rims are green, brown and beige wooden beads stitched on with blanket stitch.
I can't see them on the website but they are very stylish and suitable for male or female - but imho, not a child.
*** re-reading this, I've made them sound country-style but they're not - just difficult to describe
