    Thanks bungle...

The tags I bought off ebay last year, lots of different colours and sizes.
I wrote them out then stuck on the embellishments. The flowers on the top of the jar and on the get well tag i made using a flower punch and pink and white funky foam, then just stuck a brad through them.

I've not been a fan of the whole cellophane thing seeing it as an extra expense but with this picture you are starting to convert me.:T

Thanks for the tips re cool boxes and torches.:A Thanks for not judging.

Also for those who saw my flower vase filled with garden flowers tied with purple ribbon last week, my MIL was absolutely bowled over when she saw it and is going to keep the vase and put an artificial flower arrangement in it when these flowers have had their day. It was one of the best reactions I've had from her to any gift in my whole, quite long, married life!:j

  • Shelleybee - I love the hamper, especially like the idea of marshmallows in a jar, cheap but looks really tasty!

Valli - I think the thread is so wide due to my large photos, not sure how to re-size them, sorry!

My neighbour spotted my gardening hamper last night and when I told her it was for christmas I think she thought id lost the plot!

What about putting it all in a huge plant pot? Try poundland, extras to put in could be gardening tools (poundland again), gardening gloves (poundland or similar), a bottle of stardrops (if they don't use it already), plant food, and what about making a draught excluder and wrapping it around the top of the plant pot? or decorating it and making it into a dog or cat?

or a wastepaper bin - daughter did this last Christmas for grannys using a raffia type one.
One granny uses her in bathroom as a wastepaper bin and the other had hers in bedroom
and keeps hot water bottle and slippers etc in it.

Matalan have some boxes that would be great for kids hampers, they come in bright colours. Blue, Green, Pink and Orange (I think) They're storage boxes with handles on either side, and a chalk board on the front, which you could write 'Happy Birthday!' or whatever on. I got 2 for my parents birthdays, they're quite deep but when padded out with paper look great!
