Thanks passion8 - that price is more like it and thats only as it's his 40th !
Trying to go for a 'recycling' pressie theme this year with goodies from charity shops at really cheap prices but as its a bit of 'special'' birthday.......well, he warrants something 'new'...............lol

    Hi Mary
Last month they had ACM vouchers in Boots for extra points (1000 I think) they don't have them at the moment.
The 1000 points would be worth £10.
I think these will come down in price more before your son's birthday and could be worth keeping an eye on tesco & asda.com too.
    Fingers crossed for you

Not quite a hamper.....give me a chance....I'm newish to all this!

Like a previous poster---soz brain like a waterfall let alone a sieve---I'd always thought people would think me as tight as a duck's cuz I'd actually made something as opposed to paying someone else to do it for me:p but now I don't give a monkey's:D :DNow I've found you & the 'make anything from a dish cloth' lot, I can refine my previously ham-fisted attempts into an asthetically pleasing prezzie......& yes I have been up a long time:eek:

I bought a clear glass mug like you get in a good cafe & used a caramel coloured face cloth & cream bath scrunchie to give the appearance of a 'frothy coffee', & added one of those battery whisk thingies for Ma Day prezzie to my old mum:D I tied up the nice white paper bag like you do with the cellophane, with a gold ribbon bow & she loved it:j Total cost:£6:69......

So thanks guys, for letting me pick your brains....Long may you reign!

passion8 and crystalclear - thanks for the info. Think I'll bide my time on the frame.............like a lot of things, the price may well go down (she says hopefully...........lol)

BigMummaF -like the sound of the frothy coffee...........and there;s nothing wrong with making things yourself is there and I'm sure whatever you do it'll turn out ok.
I'm going the 'recycle' route and everything (apart from sons digital frame) is coming from the charity shops and if folk think I'm a cheapskate.........well they don't have to accept all the lovely 'unwanted gifts' I bought for a song do they...............lol
Budgeting each basket to be around £5-£6 but so far gone over that with ex foster girls hubby having a leather box from woolworths sale with bits and bobs in which cost £10 in total and I've already done ex foster girls christmas one (just happened to have the stuff for it) and that's cost me £11:eek:
Going to have to pull the reigns in a bit I think................lol

I'm trying to see just how cheap I can make christmasso keeping tabs on everysingle thing. So far bought no cellophane and used silk scarf to wrap ex foster girls birthday stuff in and got some cheap voile with roses on to wrap up MIL's 'rose themed' basket.
Got more voile lurking in the drawers upstairs somewhere ........lol

No idea how good it is, and it's had no replies yet, (from January? lol) but I'd be looking in that price range if i wanted one ;)

Sorry if this has been already commented on, haven't had computer access for SUCH a long time, trying to catch up on my fave threads is hard, anyway, back to the point, the argos one is the same as my sis bought me last year and it's excellent, would def recommend it.

Thanks for that kbl :) Do you think it needs the memory card that's shown with the picture?

These are what our mothers got:

    my mum:

    finished
    29022008109.jpg

    MIL
A coffee hamper - cafetire with matching cups, a selection of coffees and chocolate ginger biscuits

    29022008104.jpg

    finished

    29022008105.jpg

    Both together

    29022008111.jpg

I have never ever done anything like this before so was a bit fustrating trying to get the cellophane to do what i wanted it to.

Both our parents were thrilled. My mum wouldnt open hers for ages, she said it looked to nice to open :p

I will definately be making more of these, i have bought tones of cellophane anyway :p They are more personal than just an average gift

    :T They're so pretty sammiboo - you're a natural :T Well done! :T

(I love the cellophane, and especially the way you've given them both a generous allowance at the top, it makes all the difference (So I'll remember that lol)

    Thanks :D
