Just thought I'd post the first of my christmas hampers now it's done (here's hoping the recipients don't read this board, lol)

For BIL and his OH -

    And wrapped -

The container is an AWT self-basting roaster, and along with the bits you can see (2 books, an apron, oven mitt and pan-holder set, the unazukin and the oils/biscuits/panettonnes), there are also a couple of christmassy tea towels in the base of the roaster.

Very happy with how it's gone together - especially considering it's cost less than a quarter of the rrp :D (although maybe I should have shaped the tissue-covered bubble wrap a little rather than leaving it square - it's needed to stop the lid and base of the roaster clanking around)

Just hope now they like it :o

  • Pobby - it sounds like your sweety pots are identical to mine!!!:D I too bought the metal bucket style pots from Ikea and have included an envelope in the middle with money in it!!

Great minds and all that! ;)

I've lost my camera in a house move so can't post pictures. I made some lovely hampers too because of this thread but can't show anyone them!
  • earthmother that is a fantastic gift.
Is anyone else going to find it hard to part with these lovingly chosen assembled and wrapped hamper "babies"?:o

earthmother - love yours - wow! wish I was getting that for Christmas!
  • Hi, I have been without a car for 3 months so whilst I have been collecting the goodies for hampers, I have been putting off buying bulky baskets until now. However, I'm stuck - I can't find any now! Can anybody help? I don't want to spend too much on the baskets. I've got an hour free from little ones on Friday so wondered where I might try rather than driving around aimlessly!

So far, I've tried local charity shops, Morrisons, 99p store and Poundland but no luck - all the baskets have already been bought by MSErs! Unfortunately, I don't live anywhere near most of the stores that have been mentioned on this thread - Au Naturel, Instore, Ikea or Wilkinsons.

Unixgirl6 - the blue suede vanity case you spotted in Tesco sounds as though it might be perfect for a couple of my hampers but I haven't spotted this. Whereabouts in the store was it?

    Many thanks for your help

Women and cats will do as they please and men and dogs should get used to it.;)

  • Thank you needmoney for getting a piccie up -never had problems before but couldnt get a thumbnail up today!

I got a roll from local market for a £1. Seen in post offices too. The paper is much stronger thna most wrapping paper so has been a joy to use!
