This a sweety box for my dad for xmas, it has 2 sides, one side is all hard boiled mints, the other are hard boiled fruits. Total cost including box was around £6.

    That's an amazing idea

So far, I've tried local charity shops, Morrisons, 99p store and Poundland but no luck - all the baskets have already been bought by MSErs! Unfortunately, I don't live anywhere near most of the stores that have been mentioned on this thread - Au Naturel, Instore, Ikea or Wilkinsons.

    Many thanks for your help

I had the same problem and didnt want to spend more on the basket than the contents! I eventually found some nice patterned cardboard boxes in Ikea with lids (that you put together yourself). At £1 each I thought these were a pretty good substitute for expensive baskets. I know you said you don't live near an Ikea, but you may find these in other places?

If you get really desperate you could always wrap a shoe box in nice paper, they can look quite good.
