Broken sun visor & MOT question
Leant my car to my daughter and somehow she has mananged to break off the driver's sunvisor completely. It doesn't look easily fixable and also looks like it might be costly as she has totally broken the fitting in the roof. The car is booked in for its MOT next week so I haven't got much time to get it sorted - does anyone know if not having a sunvisor will cause it to fail? Thanks.

I would doubt it
what car is ut? usually the mounts either screw in or an interference fit of some type0 -
Yeah it's usually just three screws holding it in. I wouldn't have thought that the metal would have been wrecked.
A new visor should only be £15-20 from ebay or a scrapyard.0 -

Sunvisors fitted to the driver's side, which cannot be stowed in the ''off screen'' position and which drop down obstructing the view through the swept area of the windscreen are a reason for rejection. A similar defect on the passenger side sunvisor is not a reason for rejection. The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -
Not having one wont cause a fail best to keep it off.
You may get a advisory though0 -
Thanks for all the responses. I have tried to hold it in place but it does keep slipping down over the drivers side and gets in the way. I think I will take Bengalknights advice and just leave it off altogether for the MOT and get it fixed later on when I have a bit more time.0

Sometimes passenger and driver's ones can be swapped over.0

not having a visor wont cause it to fail.. but if it interferes with the view of the road it might fail.
