My sister bought an acer laptop from them 2 days ago. She's opened and used it, but she says that the speakers on the laptop aren't good enough. She tried to return but they said no, I really wish she'd spoken to me before buying the laptop *slaps her*

I've got a set of these...not particularly powerful but clear sound and fine for a laptop."I may be many things but not being indiscreet isn't one of them"0 -

Hi *Kat*
I was sorry to hear that the speakers on your sisters laptop aren't the quality she was expecting. Had your sister not used the laptop then we would of course exchanged within our returns policy terms and conditions.
An alternative suggestion would be to use additional speakers which will enhance the sound and she will be able to get some at a reasonable price, as I can appreciate your sister will have already spent quite a lot on the laptop.

After checking over the customer reviews on these products, I would recommend the Logitech X140 2.0 PC Speakers or LOGITECH Z323 2.1 PC Speakers. Both sets of speakers have had excellent reviews left by other customers.
Hope this helps

How is she going to know that the speakers weren't 'the quality she was expecting' without opening the product ?My sister bought an acer laptop from them 2 days ago. OP...Suggest you ignore the Comet's rep advice and try instead escalating or complaining to Hugh Harvey, Comet Managing Director, via sending him an email at hugh.harvey@comet.co.uk.
With luck you may get a result.

Their display model? If the speakers are the same on that (and if it's the 5742, it only has a mono speaker...in this day and age, I know!) then there's nothing she can do. If the display one sounded better and this one has a poor sound, then there may be a fault.Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
Now 20% cooler0 -

Because they are always basic!!!!

Why again?
Laptop speakers are always basic! You'd never just use laptop speakers alone for a party for example, the dimentions of a laptop aren't big enough to fit the components to generate the necessary sound.
Op ignore Sirmarcus he doesn't know what he's on about.0 -

He is not touting for business, he is making a recommendation based on the information available to him. OP is free to shop around and get them from somewhere else.0
