Domestic air source heat pump vs gch cost comparisons?

I have recently noticed a lot of commercial properties have air source heat pumps to provide heating, does anyone have a cost comparison if one is used on domestic properties? They seem fairly common for domestic use in other countries. I notice the lower power ones use around 6KWh, is that constant power consumption or does it drop according to inside/outside temperature? would this be cheap compared with a combi boiler? thanks:undecided

There are loads of threads on the merits and demerits of ASHPs. I don't think I have ever seen an informed article that would favour an ASHP system over gas CH.
Not only does a decent ASHP system cost a fortune to install, it seems very few people get the claimed performance - a 12 month trial by the Energy Saving Trust of various ASHP systems produced some results that were frankly a disaster.
