It is good that he's getting things done, but I hope your friendly word has helped. And, just for the record, you're well within your rights to ask him NOT to just let himself in.

I wonder whether advising him that you are happy to handle workmen and just need to be told when they are coming would cut out some of the visits? And not to just let himself in - outrageous!
