Well got my credit report from Equifax now as well as having my experian report and the quifax report is very clean concerning searches except that it does show the searches that have been done by DCA that is asking for the A & L loan repayment but does not show anything about the A & L search itself.
Will let you all know what the police say this morning after they take my statement, but im not so sure that the A & L loan is contected with this recent development with the catalogue companies and my stolen identity.0 -
Yet another Update!!
JEEEZ!
Ok spoke to the boys in blue this morning and they took all the information i had and gave me a case number but basically said it could take months to sort out the indentity fraud that i am currently a victim of (MONTHS!!).
Very nice Police man said thatthey are tied up with red tape and paperwork for every crime these days and it's very difficult to fast track a case as they have to dot all i's and croos all t's and get loads of paper work passed from one department from the next before they can even make any real progress.
Not thier fault i suppose they have to do what they have to do.
Anyway i am getting a password put on my credit report so any attempt to search it with out my password will be refused and hopefully new fraudulent credit as well.
So that was that and i went out to do Xmas shopping with the wife and we got home and 2 letters had been delivered 1 was for the old owner of this house (is there a way to get this stopped??) and the second letter, Well the second letter was from Clarity Credit Management!!!!!
What now i thought when i read the letterhead.
Ok so it reads like this.
"Dear Mr *****"
"We have not heard from you."
So what! I think i don't even know who you are.
"Unless you contact us immediately, we may instruct an agent to call on you at your property"
I smile broadly at this thinking, more fool you if you do.
As if that is in anyway going to intimidate me, the poor guy that turns up at my door from them uninvited is in for a real bad start to his day. I mean he wont like getting hauled of my door step by the police for tresspass or any other thing i can think of at the time will he.
The letter continues.
"Telephone us immediately in order that we can discuss the matter further"
Discuss what matter me thinks, the matter that you have not heard from me even though i don't know who you are or have never heard of or dealt with you before OR the matter that you might send someone round and get him thrown off my property by the police? Other than that there is no matter to discuss i believe.
So i would usually put such a letter in my new fraud file and wait to see what happens next, but i am the curious type and decide to discuss the matter whatever it is by calling them.
Not to admit to anything remember they have not given me any information as to what they want to discuss and if another Debt became the topic i would briskly deny it and point them in the direction of the police who i have already contacted about identity fraud.
So i call up, it's before 12 still on Saturday and all i get is a "Thanks for calling Clarity please leave a message" message
So in the file the letter goes and i will wait for the next attempt to contact me about what probably is another debt in my name that isn't mine and so it goes on.
Just how much credit has been set up in my name that i know nothing about?? and how are they doing it without most of it showing on my credit reports.0 -
yikes,
tough break nemesis. Maybe the spelling mistake means there are 2 credit files for you at the old address?
Wonder who's doing it, the ex landlord or the new tennants (must be one of them if goods have been delivered).0 -
Hi, following this with interest, seems that somehow scammers get wind of those who are vulnerable in debt, and then throw more atthem in the hope that someones else's debt will just get swept along with the rest. Should we all recheck what we are paying/ been sent demands for and see if there are any other common denominators? Debs.0

The Latest!
Ok so got a letter this morning (Tuesday) from Fredricksons!
Compared to thier original letters it's very bland, no highlights, no whistles and bells.
Anyway it reads
Dear Sir (very Formal, no names here then)
We thank you for your recent undated letter (UNDATED?? DID THEY CHECK MY REFERANCE :FOYW281106)
We requested a copy of the original agreement and breakdown of the account from our client and will revert to you as soon as it is at hand. (MMMM)
In the meantime, we return your Postal Order in the sum of £1.00 (WHY???)
Yours Faithfully ( Faithfully? YOU GOTTA BE TAKING THE P***)
unidentifiable signature
Fredricksons International.
OK so they say they have requested the original agreement, sounds good.
If they want to try and get out of supplying it in the 30 day period they have now got by stating that my letter was undated, well it wasn't undated, and i have proof of delivery 29/11/06 and the fact that they have acknowledged it's reciept is all proof of the now counting clock.
Why did they return my Postal Order? It is the standard payment for supplying such documents in these circumstances.
I can't cash it back now anyway it's written out to them! (maybe that's the cheeky idea!)
So now i have to wait for them to send me the details whenever they get them.
But the blandness of thier letter seems to have made them sit up and think "Nuts this guy knows the rules!" The first and second letters from them were all bold print and threats and colour highlighting the amount owed.
Almost forgot to say they quoted thier referance number and the outstanding balance at the top of the letter and the balance has jumped by £230ish pounds to £9063.15, Yea like the letter they just sent me cost them £230 to print and post.:rotfl:
Oh well, we will have to sit and wait for the next thrilling installment.
I can't wait;)0 -
Latest!
Well the CID came round on Friday morning to discuss the identity fraud and the opening of catalogue accounts. He said it looks like quite an easy case but i am not the one that the crime has been commited against?
Seemingly and i understand this, it is the catalogue companies that now have to make a complaint against the people in my previous address as they are the ones getting ripped off for money, but Mr CID says that they will probably do so and that he will more than likely be visiting my previous house by the end of this week once he has all the statements from the catalogues.
As far as the Fredricksons side of things go, no further response from them but they have just over 2 weeks left to respond before the 30 days runs out.
Personally i think they are on the back heel at the moment.
Speak to you all soon when i get further updates.

Nem - you are my new hero!

How can they say that no crime has been commited against you?
To whom does your identity belong?
From whom has it been stolen?
Is theft no longer a crime?
Fredricksons? BOWS :mad:I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

Update!
Well the police have done thier job and the woman that was using my identity has been arrested and charged with 4 counts (although it looks like they are going to make it more) of obtaining property through deception.
She goes to court today and will probably get a slap on the wrists and a fine with maybe community service.
So that takes care of the Identity fraud, and i have now got passwords on my credit reports so any further attempts at stealing my identity should fail.
As for Fredricksons and the £9000 imaginary loan well i have not heard from them since they recieved my letter and said they would forward the original signed statement to me when they get it, and it has been over a month since then so i am presuming that it does not exist (which i know it doesn't) or they have checked it and seen that it is fraudulent, either way i now consider the matter closed as they have failed to provide the essential proof required.
Now all i need to do is clear up the Xmas debt and start paying of my CC's and get myself debt free altogether, Only £14,700 to go.:rolleyes:0 -
i need some help im being bullied and constand phone calls and letters from fredrickson international limited over a debt of £639.21,can i tell the story from thebeginning and see if i am totally !!!!ed or if i have a case
i had a savings bank account with royal bank of scotland and i built up a nice little saving in the account, then i went into the bank one day and a member of staff asked to have a word with me,they said as i was saving i could upgrade my account and id get a cheque book and a debit card instead of a bog standard cash card,i said ok as it would of helped,a week went past and i recieved my cheque book,no card, after a few days i wrote 3 cheques,1 for a skip for £95,2 for my sons birthday £40 and 3 a internet purchase for £10 in all £145 after a week i recieved a letter from the bank saying the cheques had been refused and had bounced due to lack of funds,i rushed to a cash point to check my account and had plenty in to cover the cheques,so i left it,after a few weeks i got another letter saying i owed £300 in bounced cheques i was puzzled so i rang the bank,i had opened a current account and had no money in it to cover the cheques,no i was baffled i was told i was upgrading my savings account not opening a new account that i was already in debt of £300,so i agreed to pay the debt in 2 installments first they transfered £150 from my saving account and then the next month another £150 was going to be put in,a month or so later i had a letter saying i was in debt of £269 i immidiatly rang the branch again and said why they said you didnt put the 2nd installment in,i said that the woman who took the first payment was going to do the same for the 2nd installment and they said no that cannot be done as they can only do 1 installment by phone i had to do the 2nd by coming into the branch so interest had been added,i really lost my rag now and told them to !!!! off,now the debt is i owe £639.21 for 3 cheques that bounced which i have already paid £150 to them to cover it even though the money never went out from the account, ive been told im going to be blacklisted or even baliffs are coming for me,im never ever going to have a bank account again, please help or am i knackered,oh the rbs owe me £700 in bank charges aswell but thats a different story.0
