Looking where to spend our wedding anniversary

Hi me and the wife are looking for a place outside of London where we can spend our 2nd wedding anniversary.
Our budget is around £400, looking to spend 3 nights, around England, in a nice country-setting, laid-back, relaxing, scenic, not too far from the city and tourist/historical spots kinda thing.
We were thinking of either Devon or Cornwall.
any advice or other sugestions please....???
and on where to stay?
Thanks.

We spent a very pleasant few days at the Two Bridges Hotel on Dartmoor. Proper fires, smashing food and just out of reach of mobile phone signals
Don't know what it cost though as it was a birthday treat.
Reasonably close to Plymouth, Tavistock, Exeter and not too far from Cornwall.:j Proud Member of Mike's Mob :j0 -
We are looking at going this last week of march this year.
We are liking Cornwall as it seems near a seaside and the Eden project.
advice please.....0 -
A romantic location would be the Lawrence tower at Haldon Forest by Exeter http://www.haldonbelvedere.co.uk/Home_Page_.html
It could give you a base to explore. Exeter to the Eden Project should take about 1.50 hour by car.
Maty: Prince Charles has been known to stay at The Two Bridges, you're obviously a person of good taste

We are liking Exeter right now as it seems quite nearer (to London that is) but as lovely as the views. but is there anywhere else to go other than the National Park?
we are finding the places to stay a bit higher than our budget. :-(
any sugestions pleease....?0 -
You could start at Exeter quay

You could hire bikes from the quay and cycle along the canal to Topsham (there is a pub along the way).

One of my favourite places in Devon is Torcross, by Dartmouth. It's a beautiful place by the seaside full of history and in the middle of the beautiful South Hams countryside. It should take about 45 min from Exeter if you fancy a day trip.Keep calm and carry on0 -

I am getting married at Lawrence Castle in July and I can vouch for it being a perfectly romantic setting
Close to dartmoor/torbay/exeter.
The Jurassic coast is also a nice place to visit/stay0 -
