    Afternoon all!

My house is spotless, I have opted to meet my dad for a coffee istead of going to my mums to see him (it's always a little akward there) So his present is ready for him to open (only 3 months late!) and his girlfriend's birthday card is there to take home with him too - i have the good intentions just not the ability to pull it all together in time...

I've had a lovely bath, done my hair and make up and am going to paint my nails in a bit.

Also baked some blueberry scones and raspberry muffins so will give my dad some take home with him and will drop some round to my mums tomorrow.

I've not turned the telly on yet today and i must admit it's been wonderful!

    Afternoon everyone :D

H got in from work at midnight last night (poor sod had been there since 8am) and he's in work again today. I've been to my conference for work, apart from the keynote speaker the rest of it was a waste of time :(
Kids are still with my mum and dad who took them to see my grandparents (or Old Granny and Old Grandad as they are known ;)). It appears DS has had a meltdown whilst there about seating arrangements for lunch - oh well it's been long overdue and I don't think my grandparents have ever seen him have one. They'll be dropped back in about an hour or so.
No plans for today, did majority of ironing last night with my martinis ;) Got some washing to hang but since my back is aching and I've been living on painkillers for the last 3 days I might just have a slobbing day. Feel too tired anyway as I couldn't sleep til H got back in from work.
Cold with white cloud here. Again. !!!!!! yesterday afternoon was lovely, any chance it could muster that sort ot weather for longer than 4 hours?!

Not sure what to do for tea, will consult H as to what he wants when he gets in.

Zoelikesjam - Happy Birthday, have a great day

Redruby - Glad to see you dad is more settled :T

Flutterby - Grrrrr to some repair peeps, they don't half take the p!ss sometimes.

Anyway hugs, spoons and high fives all round. Have a good afternoon OS or not.

    Afternoon all.

Have been off work for 2 days but back tonight though this is an extra shift tonight as we are short staffed so i offered to go in. Only having 2 days off means I have not done much.

However I went shopping yesterday and picked up Delia's pancake recipe card in Wait**se. As I have said before my dear granny (who is 95 next week) was a baker and I have always made pancakes they way she did but for a change I made Delia's. Now I would call them crepes not pancakes but anyway I made them for the kids lunch today and they had bacon with it, they had one with just sugar then one with chocolate spread. The recipe adds melted butter to the batter. Kids loved them so I have said I will make them for breakfast on Tuesday morning for them. Have also made twinks hobnobs and chocolate chip muffins for the tins (hopefully they will last till about thursday)

Am off to bed in a moment as DH will be back from work soon.

    Have a good weekend everyone.

    Afternoon Everyone!
Was up early, but have only just got on to the laptop - almost unheard of for me!
AlwaysAllie - someone after my own heart! I absolutely loathe cleaning out the fridge! Judging by the way things are falling out it's a job long overdue again here!
Seem to have spent most of the day doing several loads of washing, all being dried in the TD or on the radiators tho'. It was such a lovely day yesterday, but really cold and miserable again today. House quite presentable for once so not much in the way of housework. I've been to Mr T's so that's a good job done for a few days. Seem to be getting less for my money tho'!
Dogs curled up on their beds, DH working on his laptop - all is calm here at present!
Want to make some clothes for the summer, but horrified at the cost of patterns! Will have to dig through the cupboards and look at what I have already - after all tops, skirts, shorts etc are fairly standard really!
Hope you are all having a good day. Take care!

    ((((NPM))))

Been to library, and met girls for lunch. Bought some leopard print ballet pumps for £8 in New Look - used 20% off voucher too :D.

It's clouded over now and got chilly, hope it's nice tomorrow, my friend is running half marathon that starts by my flat so I'm going to cheer her on.

I'm feeling a bit sorry for myself at the moment :( various reasons that I won't bother you all with as they are nowhere near as bad as other people's problems. But I'm going to have an evening in with a DVD and magazines to try cheer me up.

    Have a good evening all

redruby, hope you have a fun evening
mummy2jack, sorry times are tough, good luck with all your jobs for today!
    zoelikesjam, happy birthday :)
bitsybeans, hope your feeling better soon! that's rubbish for your OH :( a manager at one of my old jobs had toddlers at home and had to work 12-15 hours at a time, he took naps in the backroom on his breaks!

Evening all! I've had a bit of a lazy day not properly focusing on anything, but going to a friend's to work on an assignment after dinner (sardine & pepper pasta). I'll also be working on the assignment at uni tomorrow... and on monday... and tuesday... anyone sensing a pattern? :p Lots of work again!

    Evening all

It's very quiet on here today. House lovely and clean and made a chicken and leek soup from leftovers.
DH has been in the garden and completed the base for our home office. It's going to look great. He really is clever and I am soo lucky to have someone who can turn his hand to anything.

My Bestie rang me today and we had a long chat. I told her about my low GI diet and what a good day I have had today. She is WW queen. Anyway she has persuaded me to go to Zumba class on Wed night which I am looking forward to:j

My other friend invited us out for a meal next Fri as its her OH 50th. Some of you may remember they split recently but they are trying to make it work and that will be the first time seeing them since they got back together. Its probably going to be a bit awkward but I really hope things work for them
We were already going out on Sat but under the circumstances I couldn't say no. So not very OS next weekend. I am hoping to be well into LGI by then so I will make good choices.

Tonight is my first test of no alcohol as the kids are out and DH and I would normally crack open the wine. Lemonade for me tonight:cool:

Have a good evening all, going to watch Liam Neeson in Taken

Bramble I work from home and have a rule never to switch the tv on during the day I love radio
Adelight I absolutely love tulips they are my favourite

Feeling very virtuous as I actually cleaned it while I was cooking dinner - wasn't toooo bad but why do they make all the shelves and things have so many fiddly bits :D

Bad news is I have two fridges and the other one needs doing too!

Managed to make oatcake biscuits at the same time too while the oven was on - first time and they're yummy, a bit too sweet (thought the sugar was odd). Like most things I make the first time I only did a third of the recipe but it still made more than a dozen!

    Study time again now,.......
