            Morning all,
Been up a while just been pottering, wm on yesterdays washing folded etc.
Cold but blowy here today, I have 2 washes to do,I swear everything in the house has been washed this week as its been such good drying weather
Thanks for all the good wishes re dd, we went out yesterday and bought her a black skirt (to the knee
) and a couple of white shirts, so we are all set to go next Sat :T, dd is still asleep with her best friend at the moment, will leave them for a while, (its hard work being a teen
)
The usual tidy round this morning, just a quick going over, OH can hoover down stairs, I will do kitchen.
There is a mirror that I would like putting up, hopefully OH bought his drill home from work, an later on I would like the grass to be cut, its a bit straggly and long, and is driving me mad.
Need to nip to the local shop, we have no cheese at all, missed it off the internet shop, and we also need crisps, both of which they sell cheap.
Tappers thanks for asking re mum and dad, they are doing ok, he is so much happier at home, we have stopped the sleeping tablets that he had been given, and put him on some herbal ones, he is sleeping all night, and does not seem to be having as many 'episodes' as before, the only bad thing is that mum stopped him from going to his day centre  because he had a cold, she has promised to send him next week though, so we shall see.
Off to my sisters tonight for drinkies and nibbles so no cooking here :T.
Have good days all xxx0 -
            Morning all

Had to jump back on the OS, so thought I would nip in and say hello.
Times are really hard here at the mo, this year was meant to be a good yr for us moneywise but circumstances with my mums health have knocked our finances as I have to divide my time between home and Leicestershire ( 200miles away) whilst she is in hospital... so with the cost of diesel plus money for us to live on whilst up there its really is tough
so back to planning meals etc etc
Must admit though the last few weeks I have been back on the OS wagon I have enjoyed them... Not had much money to go out for day trips etc with DS but chose to do things like a walk on the beach, Visit local playgrounds, have baking afternoons, Picnics in the living room etc etc we have had such a good time and it has made me reminded me that we don't need to spend money to have a good time with DS.
The plans for today are going to be..
Finish decluttering the cupboards in the kitchen
Make some pizza bases and a baguette for tea tonight,
also want to use up some left over mushrooms from the other day so might make another soup for mine and DH lunches for the next 3 days
I want to fill up the biscuit and cake tins today so I dont have to do any baking next week as I want to declutter the whole of the upstairs
I need to sit and work out some meals I can prepare in advance to take up to Leicestershire next week so we dont have to spend any money whilst up there
Got a huge pile of ironing to make a start on and cleaning to do so just going to drink my cuppa DH has just made for me then I will make a start
Hope you all have a great day ... xOctober grocery Challenge

            Morning all,
Hope everyone is ok today and you all have a good weekend.Dull and grey here, but the dog didnt seem to mind.I dont need to do any housework today :j.Its all been done as s.o came to view the house yesterday. All tidy but not for long with the 3 men in my life:rotfl:
DH is at work doing a few bits. He's not had a brilliant week as thieves broke into the house he is doing up(unoccupied at the moment),took his electric saw, copper pipes and the scrap, and a few tools belonging to another joiner  Still,I think we are out with friends tonight so that should cheer him up.We've got our footie this afternoon too-which may or may not cheer him up depending on the result
I've taken some bacon from the freezer so will have that at lunch before we go out.I need to make another loaf but need to calculate the end time for when we're back,my bm doesnt keep it warm so needs to be taken out when its done or it goes soggy.I was trying to do a lower GI one yesterday and put some spelt flour and seeds in but its not risen too well.Quite good as toast tho so not all lost.
Hugs to all

            Morning all.
Hope you are all well.
Redruby, I'm glad your dad is home and more settled. I worked in an EMI (elderly mentally infirm) unit a number of years ago, where they had taken all the residents off all sedatives. The difference was amazing. They have their place, but sometimes sleeping tablets are not the right thing for many elderly. Even though there were more falls and fights among the residents, and much more work for the staff, the quality of life for the residents was greatly improved.
Quiet day here today. DH off the weekend. He has his injured ankle all strapped up and it's killing him not to be playing football this morning. He works weekends half of the time, and so looks forward to having a saturday off so he can play. At least he has gone off to the gym.
Kids watching Tarzan and colouring in.
I'm doing cous cous for lunch. I always save whatever little bits of cous cous and sauce that are left over ( we usually have it maybe once a week) and freeze them. This is the first time I have enough of both to not have to actually cook anything new. Just need to steam the veg for it.
And, because I was organised and did a proper meal plan, I had it all out defrosting yesterday. And have the marinated chicken wings out of the freezer for tea tonight. While the veg for the cous cous are steaming, I put in some extra spuds and want to do spicy wedges with the chicken wings. Just need to try to find a foolproof recipe for both the wedges and wings.
Bye for now. Have a good day whatever you are doing.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These
(he points to some plastic cows on the table) are very small; those (pointing at some cows out of the window) are far away...

Good Morning everyone , a bit late this morning as I had the most wonderful sleep.I went off at around 12.20.this morning and have only just woken up.I don't think I have slept that long for years . I feel so much better I am normally awake two or three times during the night if my old bones get stiff and achy and I have to get up and move around to keep them going. To say I am walking on air is an understatement .I have forgotten how much a broken nights sleep the pattern had become. So today I shall be pottering around indoors doing all the little 'to-do' things that I have a list of .
As my spare room is now looking rather good from the decorating I am going to have a go at the head board of the bed which was my eldest DDs from the age of 2 (she's 44 now) its a wooden one and over her younger years she covered it in stickers from different places that she had visited. I would be happy if she took it to her house so I could get a new spare bed but she says she wants it to stay at my house where she knows it will be o.k. Its a very old cast iron bedstead with a lattice framework and a wooden head board .It had been given to me by a cousin of my neighbour at the time as she knew I was looking for a bed for my Shelley, as my youngest DD Tessa had been born and needed the cot.Well along came this bed which I might add is very comfortable, if a little on the large size. This cousin had rasied five sons at various times in this bed and it had been bought in 1930.So 81 years later its still going strong (different various mattresses over the years though) and is almost indestructable.I even sleep on in during the summer as its in the back bedroom which is a bit cooler when hot, to my own bedroom which faces south. So I am going to try and remove all the sticky labels from the head board and polish it up,its mahogany the wood so it should come up I hope with a nice bit of 'elbow grease'.
This afternoon eldest DD and her friend are coming for coffee so I won't get a lot done until after they have gone then I have an 'ironing mountain' to tackle so its a good job I am bright -eyed and bushey-tailed today.
Freezer roulette for dinner tonight as I have some stuff in there that I had forgotten to label so tonights dinner may be quite 'interesting' to say the least.
I hope everyone has a good day,but although its bright this morning I have a feeling rain is on the way ,still thats better than the white stuff.I had my hair trimmed yesterday and boy did I feel chilly around the neck when I came to go home .She cut it a bit shorter than I would normally have it done but it means I canj go a bit longer before it needs cutting again.I go to my hairdressers house as she is a SAHM now with a little one so the extra pennies help her out a bit I know .She only charges £7.00 for a trim and I give her a tenner and we are both happy with that.
Right time to get a wriggle on, have a good Saturday everyone
Cheers JackieO0 -
Grrr stupid handyman just rung and said 'I was supposed to be there between 10 and 11 but I had a heavy night last night, will you be in this afternoon?'  !!!!!! that's professional. I told him no, and that he will need to speak to letting agent to explain and re-arrange with them to be here as I'm not wasting my time on him.
Anywho, DW on, clothes been on balcony for a blow but I've brought them in now as I'm off out and it's a bit too windy to leave them unsupervised :rotfl:
Off to library and then meet the girls for lunch

I saw on how clean is your house, to remove stickers cover them in mayonaise, leave for an hour or so, and then they should scrape straight off !! xx0 -
redruby Thanks for the tip I wish I had seen it before spending a good hour scraping, but I shall remember it from now on Anyway the bed head is now sticker free and I gave it a good scour and was amazed at how much muck came off with a bit of Mr Sheen. Now its looking really nice again I guarantee my DD will whinge when she see's the sticker have gone but hey ho 30+ years is long enough I think

Now I'm off to have a nice hot shower as all the cleaning jobs are done I've hoovered through so after my shower I can just crack on with the ironing and watch some catch-up t.v. at the same time.Sun has actually appeared but its looking a bit watery so I don't knwo how long it will be out
Right off I go to do a bit more
Cheers chums

            Hi all
Don't seem to be managing to post everyday at the mo - and sometimes nothing to say anyway!:o
Walked the dog and just spent a couple of hours tidying up the garden - where did the time go. Well at least the shed is tidier and I'v got rid of some leaves and piles of wood and things that were hanging around.
Lunch now (HM soup) then some study this afternoon. Tuna pasta cheesey bake for tea plus will make extras for the freezer. Need to clean the fridge out too - I hate that job!
have a good day
