See post#11I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
So garages actually get money for waste oil? cheeky National Tyres make a charge to dispose of it!!
Yes that still is the case, but to get any money for it it has to be collected in 40 gallon drums and then shipped in multiples otherwise the transport makes it impractical.
The real problem is that while this is being stored at a garage they are liable for the damage in can do if spilt or "released", insurers therefore insist it is kept in a bunded area, ie, within a spillage collector, so isn't worth the effort for most hence they dispose of it immediately.;)I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

I have one of these heaters in my garage. If a garage does have one then legally htey should have a permit from env healt (I have) but to be honest unless someone came in you would never know I was burning waste oil, surprisingly there is no smoke coming from the flue, or if there is its clear due to the oil vapourising at such high temp.
Anyway, if you've got a garage with one of these and you take it to them they would more than likely be happy to take it off you.0 -

Who is paying for waste oil these days? The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -
