Is it possible to pre-load a standard credit card, such as the Santander Zero, to avoid paying interest charges on money spent abroad, and also gain the advantage of the zero usage charges?

It's possible, but it is against the T&C of most if not all cards and runs the danger of them invoking sanctions against you - anything from charging the interest anyway, or returning the overpayment to cancelling or blocking your card.0
