What is the best deal on HTC Desire and Xperia 10 mini
I've been looking around (for the best part of this week) to find the best deals on HTC Desire (for me) and Xperia 10 mini (for her)
So far the best deal I've found are:
HTC Desire T-Mobile 600mins, 500txt, Data Bundle, 24 month contract, £25.53 p/m with £225 cashback via redemption, effective line rental £16.16 p/m. Also with £45.45 cashback, effective line rental is further reduced to £14.26.
Xperia 10 mini refurbished T-Mobile 600mins, 500txt, Data Bundle, 24 month contract, £25.54 p/m with 17months free (cashback via redemption), effective line rental £7.45. Also £40.40 cashback, effective line rental further reduced to £5.77.
Anyone able to beat the above or is that the lowest I'm gonna get. As its a 24 month contract I want to make sure I'm going in with the best deal possible.
I'd welcome your thoughts or if you've found better deals

Do you really need 600 minutes? You can get 300 minutes for free (even with profit) via redemption and buy Desire unlocked for £230 if you have Orange PAYG sim. With yet another redemption deal and cashback you can get Desire for about £130 (+100 useless minutes)0

nice one grumbler, I like the way u think - those are some cracking deals
I do need the 600 mins tho, can you tell me where I can check those deals out.
Thanks,0 -
Free 300m+500MB/'unlimited' deals are available at mobiles.co.uk.
For example:
mobiles.co.uk/t-mobile-samsung-e1080.html - 18 months with £29.72 profit
You can get 600m+'unlimited' for £0.62p.m.: mobiles.co.uk/t-mobile-nokia-1616.html - 18months.
Both calculations include £80.80 cashback through TCB. EDIT: £40.40 actually; the above calculations are incorrect.
White desire for £130ish: HTC DESIRE WHITE £367.56 ... £174.62 after cashback/redemption @ dial a phone
(minus £45 if you downgrade by £5 after 9 months)

Experia X10 mini is £99 from CPW/P4U etc as a PAYG. Looked at it myself, as I liked the T9 keyboard as standard.
Just 2 things about it put me right off.
1. Battery life is reported as less than 24 hours! No good for me.
2. Can't buy a replacement high power battery for the mini ( unlike the mini pro which is standard) as the Experia's battery is not removable and is integral with the phone.0 -
@grumbler, I can't find those deals at mobiles, were they perhaps feb deals.
the deals you mention on the website, the 300mins+500MB t-mobile sam e1080 on 18mths@£25.54 with 16mths free = £0.59 (with TCP)
the 600min deal u mention is 600mins,500txt,unlimited web t-mobile nokia 1616 on 18mths@£30.64 with 15mths free=£2.86 (with TCP)
the best deal i could find like this was the same phone sam e1080 on vodafone 600mins,u/l txt,500MB 18mth@£35with 16mths free=£1.64 (with TCP)
the white htc desire although a cracking price, the colour is not happening for me.
@Guy's dad: thx for the tip about the battery life didn't know that - but I think most smartphones you pretty much have to charge every day or two
@nsabournemouth: cashback for me is a godsend I have 5 contracts to manage (and pay for! - wife, mum and 2 sis as well as my own), i've been doing it for the past 8 years and never had a problem - stick to the big players (apart from the occasional nudge - the early years were quite strict, but the past few years have been really easy and straightforward and quite a big window to send bills in - I'm quite looking forward to using mobiles cashback as they have a webform to submit bills, so should be easily done all online - no more scan/print bill and trips to postoffice for recorded delivery etc.)0 -

Hi grumbler, thx 4 the quick reply.
The £80.80 I take it your referring to TopCashback - the cashback as far as I can work is £40.40 for each contract. Am I missing something?
thx.0 -
Was looking at t-mobile, not mobiles.co.uk
Yes, it's 40.40 at TCB, although you can get £50 at quidco.
T-mobile stuck in my head because £80.80 is available for Pay Monthly SIM Only rolling contracts.
You can take £15.32 p.m. 30-day contract with 350 minutes and Internet Boster (=unlimited?).
Apparently the cashback is payable after 3 months. So you can either cancel after 3 months and end up with about £35 profit or get about 5 months for free.0 -
re: mobiles.co.uk cashback by redemption offer - they are very strict with their claim procedure. 1 day late and you lose out. out of the 6 allotted claims i could make, they rejected 2. 1 was a genuine mistake on my part due to it being submitted 1 day late (no leaway at all), the other was totally their !!!!-up and even though i had email evidence that i had claimed in time (with an auto reply from them!)from them, it still took 8 e-mails and a lot of my time to get them to agree to refund my £30. Next time i'll take the lump sum or a better deal rather than the "tempting" redemption offers.0

When you have about 60 days to submit a claim you have to be very disorganised to be late.
However, being organised is only one out of 17 advices given by the expert cashbacker: Cashback Guide for Dummies0
