They are back!

Quick resume. Was worried about parking charge given back in June by LDK Security group, at a hospital car park. We had paid and displayed but ticket had flipped over. Took advice from this forum and ignored their rejected appeals letter and a further 3 requests for payment (these from EDRS LTD) Last recieved 30th August 2010.:)

Today we received an unstamped letter so had to pay to collect it (cheeky or what?) and it was from EDRS again saying our debt had not been paid and their recovery agents can now commence recovery procedures. Do members of this forum think this is a last attempt to frighten us into paying as I had got to the point of thinking it was all over and done with? Maybe there is a link to the news that these parking firms are going to be able to hold the registered car owner responsible. Anyway I am a tad worried again but do not want to pay (because we did) or have 'recovery agents' knocking at my door.:(

Any advice? Thanks.

You need to send them 10 random unstamped envelopes with their address on with Payment Enclosed scrawled on the front. It's called giving Karma back at them. :D

It's highly unlikely that "recovery agents" would ever knock on your door. Even if they did, don't forget they are just bog-standard debt collectors who have no official standing. They cannot enter your premises, they cannot seize goods and they cannot blacken your credit record over an allayed private parking "contravention".

In the unlikely event that they do turn up, then tell them to leave your property or you will call the police.
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?

Have one ready to send but waiting to post away from home in case I'm the only one they are after in my county. Sending 10 is an even better idea. Thanks K

Don't send 10 at once though, send them from different post-boxes at weekly or so intervals

Hiya I also have had 2 x letters from EDRS Ltd and the last one said that because I did not reply to LDK ( pretend parking attendants) that they were going to send it straight to court,I rang them this morning and they were trying to get money out of me saying if i paid now they could offer me a reduced rate,I told they where to go and they said I will have to attend court in Southampton, what a joke as I live in Hebburn North east, told them what eva and to carry on with court proceedures. I beleive to date no one has ever been taken to court yet so I may be the first.
P.s. My parking fee is now up to £260 if that makes you feel any better. lol
    cheers
