Christmas Sking to France - advice needed

Hi all,
Basically 3 of us are looking to grab a weeks winter skiing in France, flying on the 22nd / 23rd December. Now i`m very new to this and pretty naive as to where to go / which sites to book on etc. We're all in our mid 20's, lookng to ski not snowboard and fancy somewhere with a quite active apres ski scene
 . I've been looing on igluski for deals, but they are likely other good sites?
if anyone could offer any general advice, resort recommendations I would be extremely grateful. Are we guaranteed snow in most places for example? I can imagine skiiing on grass wouldn`t be much of an experience
Anyone been to Les Deux Alps? Found a resonable deal for there.
Thanks in advance :money:

Hello, You shouldn't have any problems with lack of snow in the alps on those dates as far as I know.
Igluski is pretty good I've used skimcneill as well. I usually find you get better deals by actually ringing them up though rather than just going for the internet deals.
I often use this site to look up resorts that I don't know about: - http://www.worldsnowboardguide.com/resorts/france/
(I know it says snowboard but the stuff I look at aplies to skiers too)
Check out the percentage of beginners/intermediate runs if thats what level your at.
Tignes is dead good. Morzine is good to. Never been to Deux Alpes.
Stay in a catered chalet if you can afford it, you'll get to meet loads of people and save loads of money as eating/drinking out in French resorts is really pricey. You usually get a better experience cos the chalet hosts will know the area and be able to tell you where's good to go. IMO
Hope that helps.0 -
Val D'sere is a good resort with lots of nightlife if your looking for a busy resort0

Val d'Isere and Coucheval are the two liveliest resorts in the French Alps.
www.leski.co.uk is a small northern company that own their own chalets and offer fantastic holidays. I always check their late deals page and get some really good offers each year. £400 including flights, fully catered (with alcohol), hot tub etc etc
If you want apres ski then you need to go to one of these resorts. Tignes is a bit more concretey and a short bus ride away from Val if you ended up there.0 -
Thanks for the replies all. Ive been doing some further looking, and it seems maybe Coucheval is looking promising. Prices all seem to go through the roof for the week we want to go (23rd dec) - but I guess it's popular time. I rang igluski and found them helpful on informed on the phone, so will see what they kind try and find us.
Thanks again!0 -
Try skideals.com. Also, if you try the Ryanair site they ahve some very low package prices but you have to book flights separately and arrange your own transfers so might be better suited to those who know the ropes and resorts!Just because somebody is certain doesn't mean they are right!0
