Broadband and Uk Customer Service

I wonder if anyone here can help me, I am now coming to the end of a very bad experience with Tiscali.
We should be clear of the broadband side of their package by the 28th of November, and I couldn't be more grateful. I won't go into the details, they are too numerous to mention.

We are looking for a supplier where they still have a helpful and prompt customer service department, preferably within the UK.

Is there any way of finding out if the provider has a UK customer service?
I had a plan..........its here somewhere.

Don't go anywhere near Eclipse. Pay slightly more, get a better service. Have a look at https://www.idnet.net :)

Edit - Infact I challenge you to call them and see how quickly they respond, who you get through to, ask some questions and see if they know the answer ;)

    Edit: spelling mistakes updated

most providers now have call centres in india,

BT have moved most of the Residential Centres over to india leaving only business broadband mostly in the uk.

You also have to take into account that even having call centres in the uk doesnt stop most of them being filled with around 40% of staff leaving you still in the same situation.

All i know is that most business services are in the uk,

    eg
btbusinessbroadband.com but its a little more expensive depending on what package you want but there are also some other benifits.

  • This may seem daft but all I really want is to be able to call someone who can understand my slight welsh accent, that can resolve a problem when it arises. Or at least be able to transfer me to some one that could. Preferably without having to pay a premium rate number for the privelege. I don't think this is too unreasonable a request, is it?

Nothing gets my goat more than having to telephone someone to put a problem right, which is of their making knowing that I am paying them for the privelege of phone their number.

  • Hi Mikeywills,

Why don't you try giving the ISPs that you're interested in a call? That will help you judge the level of support you will get.

    Kind regards,
