Best non-contract option for calls and internet
I just got a new phone and am looking into options for a price plan that includes a decent amount of internet and calls for a reasonable amount per month. My preference would be unlimited internet.
I cant comit to a contract as i will move abroad later this year so as far as im aware my options are:
Pay and go
Sim only monthly
Prepaid(?)
So far virgins sim only monthly for 15£s seems best with 1gig internet and 500 calls and unlimited texts. Can anyone give me any advice? the phone i will start using is an HTC desire and i imagine i'll wana use internet a fair amount. Also, cant really find anything on prepaid but i heard its a good option?
Thanks

With £80 TCB cashback you can get £15.32 pay monthly (no contract) sim with t-mobile: 600m+500t+InterenetBooster* (fair usage - check yourself).
Apparently cashback is paid after 3 months that makes it even more valuable if you move abroad soon.
Also, check http://giffgaff.com/ that is very popular ATM.
And don't overestimate your internet usage until you really try and see it, especially if you are likely to use WiFi regularly.
*CORRECTION: it is either 350+300 for £15.32 or 900+500 for £20.42. However the cashback equates to about £8p.m. discount (even more if you cancel earlier)0 -
I have been really pleased with giffgaff.
I have paid £5 pay as you go.
That gives you unlimited internet and is only £0.08 for phone calls and £0.04 for each text. I hardly use the phone apart from internet so still have £4.70 odd credit after jjust over a week.
If you look around you can get an extra £5 top up if someone refers you
You order the sim online, mine came the next day.Money SPENDING Expert0 -
Thanks for your replies! So quick too
Giffgaff seems like a really great idea, looking into it
Tmobile- seems that that one is a 12month sim only contract. On the 30day sim only it seems to be 500mb limit.
I will probably use the internet for twitter/fb/emails/wikipedia/youtube and mayb skype/spotify etc so i imagine i'll have a lot of internet usage but i really dont have much of an idea what it will all translate to in mbs hence i felt unlimited was a safe bet0 -
You can use skype only with '3'. I guess the same applies to asll other VOIPs.
What I quoted for t-mobile was
SIM card only
Keep the phone you love, get loads of minutes and no contract

oh and the tmobile thing has a few options. the one you mentioned says 12 months under the price, so i understood that to mean you would be bound to a 12 month contract. did i misunderstand?0

You are right. It was me who misunderstood. My appologies for the confusion.
However, no skype except at '3'.0 -
