Ebay - possible Fraud?

I bought a jacket off ebay and when it arrived there was a mark on the back of it, i contacted the seller on a number of occasions and she was very unhelpful and wouldn't offer me a refund. I then went through paypal and filed a SNAD. The same day (11th feb) i had a few items forsale myself and sold one to a new user, when it came to check out time i realised it was the seller whom i was in dispute with under a different username. Now the 11th was a friday, the post office was shut over the weekend and on the 14th she filed through paypal for item not received! That in itself is highly suspicious. I posted the item on the 19th recorded delivery. There is no signature yet and it says progressing through our system! to top things off ebay also got me to return the jacket so i did, again recorded delivery (posted on the 23rd) and again no signature has been gotten. In addition to this i sent the seller a copy of the receipt for the jackets return by special delivery on the 1st and again no signature has been gotten.
Either they have told the postman not to get signature or three missing parcels have occured? Yet my recorded delivery parcels elsewhere always get signatures, any idea as to what is going on and what i should do next. I spoke to paypal and they have told me without the signature there is nothing they can do and will find in favour of her instead of me

Firstly, I would ring Ebay and explain what she has done in relation to buying from you and claiming straight away. This is called auction wrecking and if you can show Ebay it is the same person, they can deal with it by voiding her purchase and possibly giving her a suspension, but be clear, present your case fully and be persistant.
In relation to the items not having a signature. Check on the Royal Mail website to see if the delivered status has been udpated.0 -
I am a bit confused, so stick with me if i get this wrong.
You sent a receipt by special delivery which would have cost you £5.05 , that worries me as special rarely fails and as it is a tracked service it should show whether it has been attempted at the recipient address, if it was refused it should say so. Chase RM on that one. Although of course even showing that was returned doesn't help you at all and I am not sure why you sent them a copy of a recipt.
Moving on to the returned jacket and the item you sent out. Recorded is not a tracked service and for me it rarely ever tracks beyond the 'in system' message. There is nothing at all you can do if it never updates and paypal were correct to say that in both cases you wouldl ose a paypal claim. However your proof of postage will enable you to claim your loss from RM after 15 working days.
Incidentally, never ever buy and sell on the same ebay account, open another account now and seperate out your transactions in future.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Can i ask why? i use the same account for both? does it make a difference if you don't sell a lot?
Whilst unpleasant buyers and sellers are rare on ebay it pays to do everything you can to avoid giving them a chance to auction wreck.
In this thread if the OP had not used the same account the 'buyer' could not have bought her item and potentially have caused more issues.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I have told ebay and they say they can't help me as she didnt open it up through the ebay resolution centre - she opened it up through paypal instead so i have to deal with it through paypal! Yes i sent it special delivery on the 1st and i rang them today as to why there was no signature and they have told me it can take upto 5 working days for a signature to appear and they have no signature there end either. The first two say progressing through system for delivery and the last one says no signature available at this time but that is has been delivered.0 -

If one of the recorded items now shows as delivered you will win that paypal claim. A signature is only required for items over £150.
As for the special, go back to RM, it should not be taking 5 days to show as delivered, it is a guaranteed service.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. The item i sold was for 3.99 and the item i bought was around £33 and then about £4 postage. When i spoke to RM about the special delivery she said either they weren't uploading it their end or there was a delay in the system with the uploading and if it wasnt showing online by next week they would "investigate" - they are so uphelpful. I am thinking about doing a visa debit chargeback but am sick of being put on hold all the time with these companies. I've been on the phone to RM, paypal and ebay for about 1.5 hours this morning!0 -
I'm going to pick up the lost claim forms today. However because the ring sold for only 3.99 i only sent it recorded delivery. Yet i believe i am not covered to make a claim since its classed as jewellery? is this correct? Problem is why would i send a ring i sold for 3.99 special delivery when the postage is higher than the cost of the item?! any ideas on this?0

Costume jewellery, you should still get paid out.0

Costume jewellery, you should still get paid out.
Macfly have you had success with this? One of the lines i very occasionally sell is vintage costume jewellery and the only time I ever had to claim they refused on the basis that jewellery is jewellery and they do not differentiate between real and costume.
I'm probably out of date though as my claim was about 3 years ago, all my recent stuff (touch wood) has arrived using 2nd class mail.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
