    Hi Lynz,

As joeblack said I think once ssp has run out you should get IB. These are contributary benefits, not means tested so depend on your NI contribution history, and have nothing to do with your OH's income. If you've been working and paying NI cont's you should qualify but obviously need to prove incapacity. Get the sick note and if you've got a gap cite advice received from the employer/council, on whose advice you reasonably relied, ie you were acting sensibly in assuming they knew what they were talking about, as "good cause for late claim".

BUT as I am very rusty on these things I'd suggest a letter or visit to the CAB who will be up to date and hopefully helpful.

If you won't have the money for a deposit to rent is one option to pull out of the sale? Or could you pay the deposit plus rent in advance on the day you move in. We are landlords of rented properties in London and don't expect the money until the day people move in, albeit in cash so cheques can't bounce. If there are a few days gap could you stay with friends or family?

You deserve a whole heap of good luck so here's some coming your way.:D

I could be your flylady! :A

thanks to everyone and hugs back especially as there are so many repsonders who are having a carp time of it themselves.

Ive booked next available appointment with my GP- a week today
Ive advised Union of whats going on, they said that they need to work out what to do next my officer is in meetings all the time, drafting email to him now . Union stating that the way that HR is operating isnt legal- and need to talk it over with others in the union I think

I do fancy a couple of those self employed things twlllyd, but we just dont have the moeny to lay out. Especially the one I did quite facny involves having a car, which we dont have cos we cant afford!

Will think on about geting a loan- I REALLY dont want to though!

Pulling out of the sale is not an option. We will not be able to afford the mortgage next month ( we do have it for this month!) so if we jump now, at least we will not default on the mortgage, and remain reasonably solvent. I have to say through sheer planning and some "skin of teeth" stuff, it does appear that everything will be paid on time if we complete next month.

Additionally we have a couple of hundred coming back to us from overpayment of council tax ( those 2 months off) and once weve completed we will have a significant amount of money. Now being a moneysaver I want to bank as much of this as we can, there will be no dipping into it for any reason aside from the deposit & months rent upfront. My understanding is that when you want to secure the rented property thats when you put the deposit down- Im sure thats what Ive always done before???
