Monday morning confessional.....

So, who went mad at the weekend??

Mine was pretty bad, went out on free work drinks on Friday, I am usually quite controlled and leave at a reasonable time but for some reason I went loopy, and got sooooo drunk. I don't even remember leaving the bar.
I woke up feeling awful and just about recalled getting a taxi home, then it dawned on me, a taxi is £20!! That was my whole weekend budget blown. To make matters worse I am embarrassed to be at work, gawd knows what I said/ did, keeping a very low profile today.

I stayed in my flat all weekend, feeling low (and scrubbed the bathroom as penance). I even refused to go and buy any food and lived off of things in the freezer.

I do have the best OH though, he is currently away on business and when I spoke to him on Saturday I told him what happened and how down I was feeling, an hour later a pizza and a tub of haagen dazs arrived, all ordered and paid for by him. It made me cry! The pizza boy probably thought I was crazy.....

That is so sweet of him!!

Dont beat yourself up, you spent your weekend budget but you did not go over it. You chose to stay in and cut back to make up for it.

I think that is a really positive thing and shows you determination.

    Well done you!!

Thanks all, think I am just feeling sorry for myself.

And you're right, I didn't go over budget, it just feels like such a waste as I have had a pretty miserable weekend!

It was this sort of thing which got me into debt in the first place, I used to only know which bars I had gone into because the switch card payments showed up on my statement. I don't want to go back there!

  • Aww what a lovely fella. Doesnt have a brother does he?!

I have to admit too that I was a bit naughty over the weekend. £30 on a night out and £20 on a pair of boots as well as a few toiletries.

My only saving grace is that I found an old Boots card which had 500 pts on and so I got a few of my things free.

Still doesnt help the guilt though, does it?

Awwwwwww!! This is the sort of OH everyone needs. A tub of haagen dazs!! can't do better than that.

As for the drunken night, we all have them - I doubt that any of your workmates was sober (why would they have been? it's a night out in the pub, if you weren't drinking you wouldn't go to start with or you'd go home after a couple of soft drinks), so they're pretty unlikely to have been paying too much attention. They're probably keeping their heads down themselves!!
  • Some have more than others! In my single days I was terrible!!

I had a fantastic weekend, but as is often the case fantastic equals expensive!! My and my boyfriend have got a big do to go to this week in London, a work thing, and while they pay for a hotel and food the transport wasnt included (but £16.50 return (Stoke On Trent to London) for 2 people was a bargain) nor is the outfits. So after trying on FOURTEEN posh dresses the only one that would fit was an £85 one!! But it is beautiful.

To add to that, my boyfriend got a phone call from the place he was hiring his dinner jacket, suit etc, to say his card payment had been declined! So I bailed him out and that's another £35 on the visa til he pays me back next week!!

I'm dreading going Xmas present shopping.
